We have a full box of RETURN OF THE JEDI Topps trading cards courtesy of RFR VIP Joe Dallas, who returns himself this episode of the Q&A. Joe loves games so he turns the activity of ripping open 38 year old wax packs into a competition! We also discuss STAR WARS novels, from HEIR TO THE EMPIRE to the current HIGH REPUBLIC. As we said, Joe loves games, so it's only natural he discusses his love of classic arcade video games and more!

Loved hearing the Pittsburgh references! Brought back a lot of Kennywood memories!

I want whatever Joe had!

JOE DALLAS IS BACK! This convo sounds so random and fun. Can't wait to listen!

Hey, I saw a really sweet Topps card (or at least what I think is a Topps card) that's a super rare painting of Anakin and Padme long before the prequels. It shows the then-unnamed Skywalker mom and dark side Anakin, dressed in black, with her looking over her shoulder in fear at him holding one of the twins. There's a shadow of Vader proper behind Anakin. Does this happen to be in any of those wax packs, out of curiosity?

So both stories about the jet ski and the dent in the car are hilarious! One of these needs to be on Jimmy's list he was asking for the other day!

Another great show featuring Joe!

Never made it to Kennywood when we lived out there. Hershey Park was 10 minutes from our house and we were there all the time. Also, went out to Knobles a couple times. That place was interesting:)

Eric from Phoenix

The packs Joe was opening were from Jedi circa 1983. Whatever you saw had to have come from something closer to the prequel era? I wonder if it was from one of the Star Wars Galaxy sets? Those had a ton of awesome artwork.

Eric from Phoenix

I immediately thought about JMac wearing that 1989 Batman costume with a cigarette sticking out his mouth and sitting on that dent reading a Star Wars book. I know it never happened but that's what I thought of.

Eric from Phoenix

Joe and JMac great job, I had a ton of fun listening! Did you guys invent a new wax pack drinking game? I can't believe the story about Q Bert. I hated, hated that game as a kid because it was so hard. Almost as bad as Dragon's Lair. Part of my problem was we really didn't have much access to video games in my small town so I just didn't get enough time to practice. I loved hearing about the filming locations that Joe visited. I'm only a couple hours from Yuma and now need to figure out if the Jedi Tatooine set is accessible :)

“Dragons Lair” …. Ohhhh sooo many quarters lost to that slight of hand craziness!

Eric from Phoenix

We have an old school arcade here called Starfighter’s Arcade (way smaller then Galloping Ghost). They have a Dragon’s Lair game and you don’t have use quarters and it is still miserable. I can only take like 10 minutes of it and then I give up.

Joe, I forgot to comment on Celebration Chicago. My wife and I were at both RFR events and had a blast. I’m not ashamed to admit that I did have one or two Blue Milks thanks to Kevin. Way, way too much fun. I wish we would’ve actually met at one of the event. Poor Brooks Pryor got stuck next to me in the front Row at Alulu.

Antonio from NJ

Ah been on vacation but needed to quickly comment... Joe f*cking Dallas is still the best name and I can't wait to have a beers w you and jmac and a bunch more in the near future!

Sean W. from Warsaw

I have no idea. It doesn't look like anything from the prequels, though. Definitely a proto-prequel vibe, back when no one had any real idea what they were gonna look like.

Sean W. from Warsaw

I meant to ask, Joe: How did you keep the books safe on the jet ski...? Was there just a nice little compartment you could put them in or something? Lol

Sean W. from Warsaw

Beautiful. Talk about Star Wars books being "cool" again! :P (Terrible pun, I know. But what can I say, I'm good at what I do!)

Matrograde

Great episode. Brilliant idea to break open the wax. Skellig Michel is totally worth it for many reasons. I went back in 2011 pre-Jedi steps!

Joe Dallas brings great energy to the Q & A shows. Keep it up!

Jared Cantor

Another great episode with Joe. Maybe I'm in the minority but I also always try to guess what will be that last drop at the very end. Maybe I'm making it up but I'm pretty sure the funniest one ever or at least in recent memory was the Nick nolte one about his tooth.

Joe Dallas

Hey- thanks you guys!!

Jeff Holland

Love listening to Joe D. on the Q&A. Gotta drink a beer or three with you one day. Ha! And I never knew there were funny tags at the very end of each RFR weekly show. I would always stop listening once I heard the Obi say "...the Force will be with you... always."

Just catching up guys. Great episode. Joe Dallas … you are a LEGEND! Great chat! Keep up the super work fellas! MTFBWY
