"ad-free"?? 🤔 Is this new?

Jared Duhon

Man...now that we got all those Patreon members we getting those special adless shows. 🤣

John Riley

I don’t mind the ads…sometimes I miss hearing about Little Debbies!

Travis Brooks

It has been a bit since we heard about Little Debbies! Lol. Just give us great content and don't worry about the rest. Thanks guys!

Javier Solorzano

AD-FREE? I disagree with this...I consider every RFR episode a 1-2 hour advertisement for excellence in SW entertainment, fun & hijinks......your welcome.

Ben P. Stein

Really enjoying this episode. Great catch by Jimmy on the Yoda theme. Regarding Poltergeist, you may recall that there were strong rumors that Spielberg actually directed the film, more precisely overseeing Tobe Hooper in a dynamic similar to what later may have happened with Lucas and Marquand in ROTJ . I can never find a completely reliable source but this article claims that Spielberg couldn’t direct because of ET-related contractual obligations. https://www.indiewire.com/2017/07/steven-spielberg-directed-poltergeist-tobe-hooper-1201855869/

Peter Beisser

A great question asked early on in this episode: "Without George, what is Lucasfilm?" Love to dig into that deeper. What is it but a repository of IP?

Antonio from NJ

bahahaah this was seriously one of the funniest episodes to date... * I need some Tem Morrison dna ..had me dying * laughing at pedro's scheduling * JMac calling Handmaid's Tale a dystopian future w Swank as the leader had me dying. I love how you guys rib each other :D Swank is a great sport! * Swank your comment on sitting on your car keys was perfect!

Uncle Ob1

Let’s gooooooooo

Jeff LeCrone

When Favreau says it was the first time we've heard Williams, he was talking about the EPISODE, not the show. He even says the word 'episode' in your sound clip. He says 'show' later in the clip, but I think he's referring back to the episode that he mentioned earlier, not to the whole show.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Yeah.... I like some things they've put out, but even those are missing that personal touch only Lucas could provide, even when he wasn't always firing on all cylinders. I think that's a big part of what Lucas provided: The personal touch.

Sean W. from Warsaw

I haven't listened to the episode yet, but just judging by the episode description, I'm wondering if you guys may have known Ed Asner played a voice in a Star Wars game called Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. Played a Jedi Master. Good character.

Jeff LeCrone

You guys forgot the beef Boba has with Jedi in general, after one killed his father.

Antonio from NJ

Its almost like what is Apple...(shorthand below) Jobs was the face Woz was the wiz and the countless engineers who made it a powerhouse

Peter Beisser

That's a good comparison AM. Disney showing George the door reminds me of the story of when the Apple board fired Jobs in the 80s. Not truly realizing that he WAS Apple.

Antonio from NJ

Yeah but my trouble is saying he made Apple. The engineers and Woz made it happen. At least GL was involved in the process but I get nervous saying LF isnt LF because GL isnt there. ILM is a perfect example. I just dont want to look pass the lineage of people who made our dreams come true on screen for the last 50 years.

Antonio from NJ

That being said LF is greater than SWs (and maybe GL?) just look at ILM and LucasArts. It is without a doubt not the same thing without GL, but I dont want to overlook the people who still work there. But you are right about the personal touch. Thats why I believe DF is best SWs creator.

Antonio from NJ

Sean we really need to get them to do a KOTR episode, I may bump up my level to do a q&a on it

Blake Weaver

Awesome show. As a Fedex driver Jason’s comments on Walmart delivery guys had me laughing out loud. And I would LOVE a new Rfr commentary of the OT. For guys like me that discovered RFR in the last 3-5 years a fresh commentary on those would make me so happy.

Blake Weaver

I would love someone on Q&A to do a KOTOR episode. Those are some of my favorite games ever. I still play them from time to time.

Philip Ehlke

I vastly prefer the read of L3-37 as deeply delusional, which I assumed to be the intent with her wanting to incite rebellion and such. Just shows why droids in Star Wars need memory wipes. Lando cradling her was the most affection he had ever shown her, which makes the scene all the more sweet and tragic. Could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

Matt Marks

I agree. I choose to interpret L3 as delusional. If the filmmakers intended something different, I don't care. I'll still interpret it my way.

Matt Marks

Even the Yoda theme in Ahsoka's episode (The Jedi) was not the first Williams theme used on the show. One episode prior, The Siege, when "Blue" is trying to recruit Cara Dune, you can hear the March of the Resistance theme in the background. It's an ST theme, but still Williams.

RobO from ChicagO

I was actually thinking about doing it! I just recently completed another run of the original KOTOR and remember Jimmy mentioning he wasn’t a big fan of it in the past. I feel like doing a deep dive into it, one of my favorite games and Star Wars media ever! Had a busy summer, but going to try and do it in the next month or so if no one beats me to it!

Antonio from NJ

Huh just realized how Bobba sitting on the sideline during the battle, is similar to Jango waiting till he was commanded to join the Ep2 battle.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Well, in that case you're safe with me! I have other ideas I wanted to discuss. But that would be a fantastic episode! I just hope Jimmy would be into it. AM expressed interest in it above, too. Could be a good little series!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Blake, the games are pretty amazing! I haven't played them since when they first came out, but they left an indelible impression on me. I've heard they're gonna do a remake on the first one soon. And the second one has a mod which restores a ton of the cut content, to more fully represent the full story they were going for, voice lines and all. These reasons alone are enough to bring me back.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Better hurry! Robo from Chicago here is expressing interest! Maybe you guys could do a little back to back series or something?

Sean W. from Warsaw

It genuinely surprises me to hear that Jimmy didn't care much for those games. Maybe folks like you guys could help him see the light! There's so much great mythological material they add to SW it's unreal. Right up there with the storytelling quality of the Tales of the Jedi comics.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Also, the guy who wrote those games (or at least the first one) wrote a number of great novels for the old EU. Maybe someone could do an episode or two on those? Drew Karpyshyn is his name. He did a Revan novels that's really good and the Darth Bane trilogy.

Sean W. from Warsaw

I'm with you guys. Until I heard the RFR guys talk about, it never once entered my mind this was something to take seriously. Lol Droids and their memories, man!

Trevor Hallam

Totally paused the episode and compared the Main Theme from the TPM and TFA. There totally is a difference! Almost seems like TFA has too much of a certain low end frequency that makes the ears a little more tired…

Sean W. from Warsaw

After the conversation I had above about the KOTOR games, I'm firmly convinced we need someone like Matthew Rooney to do a Q&A on the Darth Bane books and the Revan book. You up for it? Did you ever get into those?

JR Eaton

Not earth shattering news or anything but thought I’d mention it. I saw Carl Weathers at Steel City Con August 14 and at his panel he said filming on S3 begins within the next month. Also said he’ll be behind and in front of the camera, so he’s directing at least one episode.

Tyler Page

“Horn dog in hyperspace” is a top 10 quote

David Grunert

Clone wars movie commentary please Jim and Jason your our only hope.

Charles Mekealian

Ugh… I’m a millennial 🤣 I remember saying “at at” as a kid but I think I must have picked up “AT-AT” from video games?

Adam Taylor

Glad you mentioned Vrook Lamar when talking about Ed. He was a Mace Windu type Jedi (cold and dismissive, priestlike)

Tim Brown

On the OT call in, it would be cool to hear a commentary for the Despecialized versions.

Diana Orr

Great story about Jimmy Mac’s first job. When are you going to write your autobiography?

Antonio from NJ

There needs to be a sw video game show from arcade to consoles.. I know we've done dark forces and shadow of the empir but Kotor 1 &2, Jedi knight series force unleashed series... For many years these were mine (and many others) main source of Star Wars.

Sean W. from Warsaw

That would be cool! Someone that could school Jason and Jimmy a little, since they might not know the newer stuff too well. Maybe someone at the Galloping Ghost...?

Shane Normand

Anybody else waiting for the video before listening to the podcast? Kinda sucks having you wait

Bart Smets

I always wait for the video. That’s why I became a Patreon. Heard from other youtubers that posting videos is not going smoothly on YT’s side. Maybe that’s why it’s taking a long time.

Antonio from NJ

Hey guys! love the vinyl talk. I dont really collect star wars but I do collect vinyl. And about 15 years in I can't tell you how many times I've used discogs.com to track down the best releases of a particular album Im sure you've already checked it out, but just in case anyone doesnt know - discogs is a marketplace and collection resource. Best place to buy vinyl and often buying it from brick and mortar/collectors specifically. And for fun here is the link to the release page of the original Star Wars OST - there's over 150 different release lol https://www.discogs.com/John-Williams-4London-Symphony-Orchestra-Star-Wars/master/25529 Here is the marketplace link for just the vinyl :D https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?master_id=25529&ev=mb&format=Vinyl

Eric from Phoenix

Agreed. Great conversation and interesting topic. I think Lucasfilm is more than George but it takes people like Dave Filoni who learned directly from George. Without that, very hard to keep Star Wars consistent with George’s vision / DNA.

Eric from Phoenix

A M - I was thinking of doing a video game overview starting with Atari / arcade game and working up through Battlefront. This wouldn’t happen for probably a year based on other things I want to talk about :) Also, there are a ton of games I never played. Key ones for me would be Atari, vector vision arcade, Dark Forces, Rebellion, Tie Fighter Vs X-Wing, galactic empire?( Age of Empires), Battlefront 2015, Battlefront 2017.

Eric from Phoenix

Great show guys! I’m now really excited and also concerned about Book of Fett. Why? I like having reasonable expectations when going into a movie / show and Rodriguez has now set the bar very high. Ughhhhhh. Boba Fett is my favorite character and they’ve done an excellent job with him so far. Fingers crossed.

Eric from Phoenix

I need to go back and watch the Sarlac battle in Jedi. Doesn’t Boba start fighting as soon as the battle starts? In fact, I think he sees R2 leave and it looks like he is going to follow him? Was there something filmed or in the working script that had an interaction with Boba and R2?

Sean W. from Warsaw

Man, now that you mention it it sounds like the worst of how Abrams kept promoting TFA and TROS like a Ringley Bros. Circus promo. Too much hype like that can set the bar impossibly high and set it up for disappointment....

Sean W. from Warsaw

The Age of Empires one you're thinking of is Galactic Battlegrounds, which is one of the best SW games ever made. Made by the same folks who did AOE2, which is why it looks and plays so similarly and is such a great game. I still play that one! There are some devoted fans out there who recently did a mod of it to include ST factions and even the Zann Consortium from another fantastic SW game, Empire at War. They're working on doing campaign modes of all nine main movies, now. Not sure how much time you have to check it out, but look up Expanding Frontlines if you get a chance. That's the name of the mod. Btw, did you ever play Empire at War at all, or it's expansion Forces of Corruption? Also has a very devoted fanbase all these years on who have made many great mods that include the old EU timeline with Thrawn and leading up to the Yuuzhan Vong; and another for Clone Wars. You gotta love SW video game fans!

Eric from Phoenix

That’s my concern Sean. I hope Rodriguez is right but I’d rather have the show runners / creators positive but more subdued.

Eric from Phoenix

You got it, Galactic Battlegrounds!!! Great game. Is Empire at War any good? I loved Rebellion but I think the micromanagement required gave me carpal tunnel in my wrist :)

SkyHighJedi

Does anyone know who the guy was that Jason credited for helping with his son’s Mandalorian Armor build? I’ve tried to go back and search through the past episode descriptions but can’t find it.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Oh yeah! I know about that carpal tunnel stuff.... lol Anyways, Empire at War is really good. Can't give it enough compliments. And especially if you saw how much more refined the mods have made it. The one, called Thrawn's Revenge, is going on over a decade strong now. These fans are crazy! But even just the base game is amazing. You can build the Death Star I and II and go around blowing everyone up. Can't beat that!

Peter Beisser

Props to everyone on all the comments. Nice seeing so many people chimming in. Feels like the chat on the live show.

Brian Robinson

Maybe I can ask you, has there been a change within the corporation to use local delivery services for certain areas? I don't have actual FedEx drivers delivering packages from time-to-time. Packages are being delayed 1-3 days more frequently, even after I receive the email where it will be out for delivery that day. I asked one driver to leave packages on the porch, but he said he'd pass it along and he's just a delivery service and not FedEx. I've seen them using Uhaul vans and personal vehicles.

Blake Weaver

I haven’t heard of that. I work under Fedex Ground which is all contracted work but we are still “Fedex” drivers if that makes sense. We wear the uniforms and drive Fedex trucks. But we don’t use outside sources for help. FedEx Express which is all the overnight stuff might. I worked for them for a few years and occasionally saw that.

Brian Robinson

Yeah, FedEx ground is who usually delivers here, but it's all changed the past month or two.

Eric from Phoenix

Hey Peter, what’s your Twitter name? I need to contact you about my trip to Philly next week. It’s still on and Id love to buy you a beer :)
