Welcome to this week's RFR Early Bird release!

News broke recently about Hayden Christensen appearing in the upcoming AHSOKA series. We discuss this new development and how Anakin/Vader could be used on the show. Sasha Banks talked about THE MANDALORIAN in a recent interview and we got the highlights. We review STAR WARS: GALAXY OF SOUNDS on Disney+ and present the “Top 5 Worst Star Wars Sound Effects”. Plus, we celebrate Halloween as Jason builds a mini-Mando costume for his kid, Force Ghosts appear and we listen to Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky in the CHILD’S PLAY reboot.

I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did during the top 5 worst sounds in a while. Hilarious stuff and I agree with Jimmy’s list. Super excited for Hayden to appear in Ahsoka. While I think flash backs would be cool I’ve had so much Clone Wars over the years I’m more into the idea of a amazing force ghost scene with Anakin. Yoda’s appearance as one in TLJ was cool but it left a lot to be desired. They could really pull some gold off with this one.

I think I'm kinda with you on the latter. I think I'm still open-minded enough right now to be willing to wait and see before putting it down, but I worry that it might take away from the classic scene in ANH--but more for the wrong reasons: For the "showdown of the century," as KK once put it, as opposed to a proper story idea that fits in the mythos. We don't need Star Wars becoming a "royal rumble" spectacle in that way! Lol It's why I really appreciated the minimalism in Rebels when Maul had his fateful final duel with Kenobi. And the cherry on top was that it was something clearly motivated to happen by Maul for a long time, ever since Clone Wars: His revenge against Kenobi, built up during his return in Rebels. I never understood the appeal to see Maul fight Vader other than "It would be cool," (though they did, admittedly, have the perfect opportunity in that Sith temple in Season 2). I always saw Maul as being afraid of Sidious and his new apprentice, anyways; that he wouldn't be ready to have Sidious try to find him again. What would be the story for Vader fighting Kenobi in the new series, though....? Vader thinks he's dead, along with Tarkin and the rest. So I'm worried, for sure. I guess we'll see. But, as for the Ahsoka series, I could see plenty of story potential for Anakin as a Force ghost communing with Ahsoka. Could be good!

Regarding the Star Wars costumes...I work at Target, and our stock in Star Wars costumes have been almost as much a joke as the Hasbro toys. Once you miss the first batch, good luck finding any more. (By the way, I CAN confirm that some employees stash away the few Hasbro/Black Series figures we get, unfortunately.)

Great show. So much fun and great laughs. A bunch of random comments. The old Halloween costume plastic pants always make me think of Sears tough skin jeans. Hard to get the knees to bend. One of the best jump scare scenes is when the Sand Person attacks Luke on Tatooine. I totally agree with your top 4 worst sounds but would swap out #5. In the Star Wars Special Edition I believe they replaced the sound of Chewie’s blaster rifle during the detention block escape with the AT-AT blaster sound. I’ve always hated that change because how could a rifle sound like the massive AT-AT blaster? Probably just me. I was really disappointed to find out that my mail away Fett didn’t have a firing rocket. You can hear Jimmy and I talk about that during my last Q & A (#83). Jason, you just worked in the wrong office for that Insurance Company :)
