We review some cringeworthy promotional video for the new STAR WARS hotel, Galactic Starcruiser. Patty Jenkins is moving her schedule around again, but will it include a return to ROGUE SQUADRON? And what's up with the inconsistent media reports about RANGERS OF THE NEW REPUBLIC? We look at quotes from a recent Empire Magazine cover story about STAR WARS to figure it out. Plus, a little discussion about Count Dooku  and the world premiere of Puppet Lando's all-new song "My Felt Needs To Be Felt".

Really awesome show guys! I haven’t laughed that much in a while. I’m a huge Disney parks fan and go quite a bit since I’m a hour from Orlando but my god I have zero interest in that hotel. They’ve really dropped the ball in my opinion on Star Wars in the theme parks. I’d go to Epcot any day over Galaxies Edge or that hotel.

You two nailed it on that freaking hotel... It reminds me of the overwhelming feeling that I was watching a parody while viewing the sequel trilogy. I've never felt the itch to go to galaxies edge and experience "sequels" star wars... If it were mixed in with the OT, prequels, Clone Wars, mando and even Rebels I would have been there numerous times by now. I'll be there when I can see Vader, Snips, and deathwatch mandos populating the area.

I'm sure Disney pulled the promo video because it wasn't meant to come out yet, but geez, what's the price we as fans have to collectively pay for Disney to stop embarrassing us? That bar singer gave me Frozen vibes, like they're desperate to make anything at all that connects with kids. But maybe I'm most confused about why they'd name their pop singer, set in space, who sings about the wonders of exploring space... "Earth!" (Gaia being Greek for Earth.) Anyway, I had to go find the footage for myself and you guys nailed it, this hotels looks like TNG brought into the modern era more than anything remotely Star Warsy. Still mid episode, but wanted to say thanks for answering my Dooku question! I hadn't connected or though about the Dooku/Kenobi conversation compared to Vader/Luke in ESB. You guys doing kind of a side by side was awesome, framed very well and now I've got to go back and watch both.

As to Jason's speculation about what Lucas said in the commentary for AOTC, I'm pretty sure he brought up the comparison, if not necessarily in AOTC. Pretty cool when you see how he was intentionally fashioning the rhyme scheme of the films. Gives a deeper appreciation, for sure.

This is the first episode of any RFR stuff I've been able to listen to virtually straight through in months. Forgot just how amazing the pacing and humor can be when it steadily builds to an ultimate climax like a Puppet Lando song! Man, I needed that, guys! I thought the same thing. Keep in mind he was singing while trying to do a different voice. That’s not easy to do. We just watched Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas (classic Jim Henson 70’s special). It’s amazing how those puppeteers could do the actions and sing in a crazy voice.

Fun show guys. I saw the back of the hotel when we were at Disney World in September. Not quite as magical as seeing it from the front. I have to go back and actually watch the video as I listened to this show via the podcast. My thoughts all along have been that I need to see reviews before I would spend the money on this hotel. I’m hopeful that they will tweak it to get the experience right for the fans. We went to Galaxies Edge in September and I thought they did a great job with that. Only thing we didn’t get were cast members walking around in costume and mixing with the guests. They were only on the structures / platforms (stupid Covid).

Sounds like there's gonna be a whole story thing going on with it, the hotel I mean. I saw some other reviews, so it's kinda cool it's a bit more than I thought, but still in need of work. Btw, given the actors weren't mingling with the guests, did you at least get a discount...? Lol

Without the crowded theme park, seems like R2 units should just be roaming the halls, I don’t remember if it’s in the concept art, but seems like should be been in the live video. Also, is that captain supposed to be a blue Kathleen Kennedy?

I made the mistake of listen to this episode on an airplane. Everyone was looking at me like I was crazy. Few things… Kathleen Kennedy is a joke. Your Adam Golberg voices were killing me. And that hotel video was so cringeworthy I got total Starship Troopers vibes, nothing like Star Wars. More like Star Warzzzz. Great episode! On second watch it looks like the set to a Star Wars porn parody. 🤣😂

Great episode. Number one thing the hotel seems to be missing is anything related to the “Wars” in Star Wars. It should have been a ship that was engaged in a battle somehow, or maybe taken over by pirates. My choice would be the Mon Cal cruiser in the battle of Endor.

Yep, Jeff is right. When J & J broke down the itinerary a couple of months ago I think there were a couple of times where "something happens" as a reference to a story moment. I don't remember specifically what it was called.
