Thanks for the shout out on this weeks episode. I’ve been meaning to gear up for another Q&A episode. I was episode 24!!

David Grunert

Great Show Jimmy and Jason I can’t wait for the Hasbro Krrsantan vintage collection figure in coming December 2023. I think the quote used for the book of Boba Fett aftershow is going to be telling with this boba Jabba ruled with fear I will rule with respect. Boba Fett has seen what happens to those in charge who rule with fear Jabba and to a lesser extent the empire both are gone so he may feel after his rebirth via the sarlacc and the tuskens that respect is the way to stay in charge that’s my thoughts. In regards to Slave 1 agree with Jimmy Temuera could call it the “good ship lollipop” in chapter 4 and a majority of fan base is always going to know it as Slave 1.

Unrelated to any of this convo, but does that leaked Knights of Ren thing look like if it’s real it could be the first Lucasfilm animation film since Clone Wars? Looks like animation to me at least.

Great first main show of the year! Man I’ve always loved Tem Morrison but every interview I listen to of his makes me love him even more. As far as the slave 1 discussion I agree with Jasons statements. To me it’s more to avoid backlash than anything else. It’s happened with one my favorite football teams the Washington Redskins. They are getting a new name next month after the redskin name was stripped a season ago or so. It wasn’t a real issue for 99% of redskins fans in the DC area where I grew up and lots of us still call them it. But I understand for business why in this day and age they did it. Same for slave 1.

JR Eaton

Big fan of the Darth Bane trilogy and I remember Bane riding a rancor as well in one of the books.

I’m reading the 2nd book right now! I’ve been blown away by the novels. Loving learning about the origins of the rule of 2! 👍🏼

Those are interesting thoughts on Boba's outlook; but it still needs to be made clear to the audience. It's certainly very crafty and intelligent, if true, but we gotta know, I think. I don't think these visions and such are clear enough, as they can be read into a bit too much. Time will tell!

Slave Leia, too, got the boot.... But we know, man. We all know. I mean seriously, what else is she in that scene? Lol Just can't wait for all this politicization to blow over one day. Oi....

So, could someone clear something up for me? Protection money. What is that, exactly? I'm pretty sure that's to protect the society in question from the ones forcing them to pay it, right? Otherwise, "accidents" happen. Lol I just keep coming back to The Godfather and "Make him an offer he can't refuse." This applies to BoBF, right? I just get the impression that if the folks at Mos Espa don't pay Boba, he's gonna come shake 'em down...or let "accidents" happen, right?

This Black Listener never felt offended by The Slave I. The decision to cancel it reminds me of the recent decision The Rolling Stones made to stop playing Brown Sugar on tour. It's ridiculous and it doesn't help a single one of the actual issues at hand. Nobody should feel the need to apologize for ever saying the OG name of our favorite bounty hunter's ship. It is what it is.

Native Americans around the nation rejoiced at that name change, and they've been asking for it to happen for decades. So I'd say that it's different, but that's the problem with drowning everything out with politicization... Society never actually gets to understand what's happening and the real issues are never actually handled. Back to my point though, I don't see any freed slave groups of any ethnicity rejoicing at Disney's decision to change the slave 1.... Strange times we're living for sure

So what happened to the Top 10 Moments of RFR 2021? I remember Jimmy sent out an email for us to share our top ten moments from across all of RFR. That still forthcoming or...?

Great 1st weekly RFR show! Great way to kick off what will be a very busy year. And thanks for the shout out on the episode! I'm going to get "Oh great! It's a Jeff Holland episode!" on t-shirts made for my family, and make them wear it whenever they are around me. LOL! I too, collected all of my old concert and movie ticket stubs. The earliest concert ticket stub I have is from 1992, and the earliest movie ticket stub I have is from 1993 (I think).

Yeah, what happened to that? Hopefully we get it on a RFR weekly show coming up.

The guys talked about Ming Na Wen and Filoni going to the same HS in Pittsburgh (Mt Lebanon HS). I looked up other notable alumni from that HS and WOW! A lot of famous people went to that HS: Kurt Angle - professional wrestler Mark Cuban - businessman Dave Filoni Ian Happ - Major League Baseball player Gillian Jacobs - actress (Community, etc.) Ming-Na Wen Joe Manganiello - actor (Magic Mike, etc.)
