Star Wars was created in the United States and shot mostly in London, thus giving fans in both countries a certain "home field advantage". RFR V.I.P. Martin from London makes his Q&A debut and we compare notes as STAR WARS fans living in different countries. We discuss collecting Palitoy as opposed to Kenner and other memorabilia, comic books in the UK, and more. We also discuss THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT and the upcoming ANDOR and OBI-WAN KENOBI series.

Whenever a Q and A comes to an end, I always feel sad that the great conversation is over... But usually I see at least another episode has dropped!

Great Q&A, not to be missed including for the possible intel/scoop that Martin offers early on! This reminded me of the great benefits of being a Patreon supporter. I also learned new things about where the famous English film studios are located, not having been to the U.K. yet (but hopefully soon). Thank you!

Peter Beisser

Amazing job, Martin! Loved the conversation. Wonderful that RFR can pull fans of the Wars from all over the world together.

Philip Eighteen

Cool episode, good to see the UK fans represented! I wonder how many RFR Patreon fans live in the London/Essex area. Maybe we could all meet for afternoon sometime in the summer for a UK RFR hang out!

Josh Carter

Great conversation once again. Thanks to J Mac and all the VIP's for keeping these fresh

John Riley

Good conversation! Martin has a “Marcus” (Denholm Elliott) sound to him, very captivating.

Joe Dallas

Nice to hear ya man! Welcome to the VIP’s!

Hi Jimmy. Thanks for the great show again. And great to hear you Martin.

Regarding your queries about the custom figures you ordered and have not received. There's an interview here with the guy that produces them. Hope it's helpful in answering some questions. It seems you're not alone.

In response to the question raised during the show about Japanese Star Wars podcasts—no, there is no readily accessible podcast here in Japan (hosted in Japanese) that is dedicated to Star Wars. There are a few movie podcasts that have discussed SW for an episode or two, it that’s it. I’ve asked some of my friends in Japanese fan groups if they know of anything. I think it may have something to do with the culture of fandom here, but whereas American fans are more likely start a podcast or YouTube channel, Japanese fans are more likely to publicize their fandom through fan fiction (dojinshi), cosplay, figure customization and collecting, or through social media fan groups. All of which is to say, I don’t know if there is even a market for anything like RFR in Japan. The fandom is very small to begin with, and fan works tend to fall within a different set of cultural and media practices.

I kept zoning out and thought you were talking to Paul Bateman

Great job Martin! I loved hearing about the differences between the two countries. We met Michael Sheard at a small convention in Omaha, NE back in 2001. He was a super nice guy and we were able to talk to him a bunch because there weren't many people there. He was also in Raiders of the Lost Ark as the sub captain. All of his lines were cut but you can see him on the sub conning tower as the main characters exit the sub.

I wonder if the janitor picked up Yoda's saber and through various transactions and changing of hands Luke finally ended up with it. They could make a movie out of it!

Stuart Rattai

Lol, that would be awesome. They could have all B and C background characters.
