The Freaks have reconvened to recap the big trip to Nashville for ICCC. We talk about what we did, who we saw and what we purchased.  Plus, STAR WARS collecting talk, Hasbro criticism, and discussion about an unpopular pending change to action figure packaging. Plus, we're looking forward to the new upcoming animated series TALES OF THE JEDI even though we don't know what it actually is, and more!

Hi Jimmy Mac! I work at Target and can actually tell you what would happen with returns, if the carded figures had their plastic bubbles replaced by cardboard: The idea is stupid of course, and counter productive to collecting as you said. For better or worse, Target has a safeguard against figures being swapped, as it is. If the product was opened, then no matter how prestine its condition, the toy gets scanned into a "salvage" category, and shipped away to discount stores, and never returned to the shelves. This can be good or bad, but it means you generally won't have to worry about figures getting swapped on you. Edit: When you DO find a toy swapped, this is unfortunately a sign you're at a bad Target. Specifically because the employees ought to know better than to return the merch to the sales floor. They are either ignorant about store policy, or flat out don't care.

Great getting to meet Tyler and Brian at ICC. I think we technically all met at Alulu as I believe we were all in the first row but I only remember Brooks (poor guy, he had sit next to me). John helped refresh my memory. ICC Con was cool and definitely a throw back event. Loved getting to hang with all the RFRers Saturday night. Barry, I like the bottled Coronas I saw you enjoying, my drink of choice for live-streams or Q and As. JMac rant on Hasbro was awesome and spot on. I just don't get why we can't get figures at the store...I agree on the packaging change, I know what they're trying to do but it doesn't make sense for carded figures. Finally, JMac you are spot on that every Star Wars Celebration is like Reed's first convention. My gosh...The good news was Celebration Chicago was pretty good outside the store fiasco which is pretty much a given at Celebration. Great discussion guys and I loved hearing about your purchases. Looking forward to seeing you in a week!
