Comic books, conventions, and collectibles...Three topics STAR WARS fans love to discuss and this week on the Q&A is no exception! RFR V.I.P. Eric from Phoenix is building up his vintage STAR WARS Marvel comic collection from the 70s and 80s and we discuss some favorite issues from that classic series along with other new additions to our collections, including finds from ICCC in Nashville. STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE is one of the coolest theme park attractions ever and we talk about our experiences on the ride. Eric shares memories from the first-ever Star Wars Celebration in 1999. Plus, new STAR WARS magazines, RFR's ill-fated flirtation with Discord, Target gripes, and more!

Awesome, awesome conversation. EFP’s episodes are becoming my fav thing. This was a great soundtrack to wake up to and do some morning errands to.

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks for the kind words and for taking Jimmy and I along on your errands. Feels good to get out of the house :)

Blake Weaver

That was a fun show to listen to Eric! Happy you had a awesome time in Cali. Enjoyed hearing about your Disney adventures out there. Loved all the Star Tours love. Honestly I’d do that over Rise of the Resistance 8/10 times I’d say. Mainly for the gift shop and OT love it shows during the ride.

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Blake! I haven’t went back and listened to the discussion yet but I probably need to somewhat clarify the Rise of Resistance comment. Rise is an awesome, awesome ride, however, after having ridden it many times if I had to chose between Star Tours or Rise I would take Star Tours. You never know what combination you’ll get on Star Tours which adds a little bit of extra fun. We loved the Rise of Skywalker Death Star scene.

I completely understand why Jimmy left discord in the dust now, this helped alot! DON'T FEEL BAD! Going in thinking it would be easy would turn you off quick. Having helped run many discords over the years, it's a huge time suck. You honestly gotta have a few different people who can do it. @eric dude I can't believe your target had them in the kids clothes section!!! I'm going to have to check that area in my target! I just will never understand this stuff, even though I worked retail for almost 5 years...

Eric from Phoenix

It was right off the toys and I think connected to kids clothing. The whole thing was mind boggling. I just don’t get it. I want to give them my money but they are so bassakwards that I can’t give it to them. Ughh

My favorite Q&A host knocks it out of the park one more time! Always feels like two old pals chatting when you and JMac get together to talk the Wars. (Are these two hours the Guinness Book winner of longest Q&A yet?) Got me to and from work today and yesterday. See you in the chat tonight, buddy!

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Peter!! The time flew by and if it weren't for my "old man" bladder I could've talked for a couple more hours. Jimmy was very generous with his time.

Love Space Mountain with the lights on! I’ve done that at Disney World- so crazy…. And RFR hangout in the Keys- let’s do it!

Eric from Phoenix

Dude, that would be a bucket list trip for me. Never been to the Keys! I wish I would’ve taken more pictures of what Space Mountain looked like with the lights on. So cool!!!

Antonio from NJ

Great episode guys!! A few thoughts... * On discord - ty jmac for even trying. I thought hey maybe I could mod and watch a YouTube video on it ... hah nope. * I agree w Eric whatever the platform is I'd like a place to talk to fellow Patreons and and do game nights or zoom hangouts. This community is the best and I want to hang out w y'all hah. * While I wasn't a troll I did engage w one of the trolls because I was tired of the trash talking. Want to say sorry to the community and the boys for that. And thank you to Eric who appealed to the light side in me and brought me back haha.

Eric from Phoenix

Glad you enjoyed the discussion! I think one of the biggest issues about discord was the extra work it would take even if you had a bunch of reliable mods. I don’t know how Jimmy gets out the content he does and taking up time with Discord just didn’t seem like a good use of his limited time. Glad I was able to pull you back to the light side of the force!

Antonio from NJ

Haha I completely have the image of George (like Swank) being busy with something else and their wife coming into the room going, "Do you still want this Star Wars thing? Are you doing anything with it? You should just get rid of it."

Blake Menefee

Eric! This was a freaking awesome episode. Well done!

Tyler Page

This conversation really got me roarin and ready to go back to ICCC. That place was awesome.

Jeff Holland

Love listening to Eric from Phoenix and JMac shoot the shit about The Wars! Great ep!

In a perfect world, Rancho Obi-Wan would relocate to LA, so we could all do RFR Bash, SW Celebration, GL Museum, Disney Land (Galaxy's Edge, Star Tours), and Rancho Obi-Wan...all in one week.
