Some weeks, I can’t believe you guys release this stuff for free (or for a nominal Patreon “fee”), and well, this one was gold. Do you guys realize while you’re recording an interview or just chatting together the excellence you’re brewing? Straight to the RFR hall of fame with this one. Great ‘get’ of an interview. That reveal of Marcia saving ROTJ by fixing Mark Hamill’s performance in the edit and thereby building the “Jedi Master” characterization of Luke that we know and love might break the Internet. Let’s just say that a certain picture emerges about why George wished to minimize her involvement after the divorce. If it’s true (and I see no reason to doubt Marcia on this or William Huyck’s suggestion of the filial relationship), Marcia deserves to be recognized for the creative genius she was—and her critique of the sequels takes on even more weight as well.

Wow The best episode ever Thanks guys I don’t mind saying that interview made me cry on the motorway My love for clone wars is something else and to hear you guys get that stuff out of brian and his feelings was stuff of magic. Can not wait to watch the new documentary he was talking about. Thank you as ever. You’re the best podcast by a country mile.

I just got started with the show but I wanted to let everyone know that Vice has a YouTube channel. The A New Hope episode is available for free on their channel. Beware, let’s just say their other videos are “interesting”. A little worried about what videos YouTube will now recommend in my feed. Lol. UPDATE - just finished watching the first episode, wow was that awesome. Might be one of the best Star Wars documentaries I’ve watched. The key is showing the good and the bad of the process which this show excels at. Just amazing!

Literally as Jason said “action figure dominos” my justice league superman fell! 😂 this figure has never fallen before so that’s irritating

Great discussion Jimmy and Jason! Howard Kazanjian was at one of the Celebrations (2017 I think). Was a great panel but weird as David W Collins was the stage host and there was also a writer there to help interview Howard. Weird. When you mentioned Carrie’s drug problem and that this happened during Empire I went all “comic book guy from the Simpsons”. I checked IMDB and it looks like Howard was an uncredited Producer on Empire (I never knew this). With that said, I think Carrie’s drug issues were during Jedi so I’m guessing Marcia’s story happened during Jedi. There are still a few scenes in the final cut of Jedi where she looks like she was on something. I could be totally wrong :). Angry Luke in Jedi? Mind blown. Can’t imagine seeing Jedi with an angry Luke. Oh wait, we did see a movie with Jedi in the title where Luke was angry……not a great Luke.

Carrie started doing drugs as a teen. She was well wrapped up in the stuff by ESB. Kazanjian was brought in during ESB when Kurtz went over budget and was communicating BS back to the studio and Lucas. That ended his career with Star Wars. - JMac

Wow that convo with Brian blew my mind. His describing Luke confronting his demons during his fight with Vader in ROTJ was a point of view I’ve looked at lightly but never thought that deeply of. After meditating on what he said that’s a moment I’m gonna keep with me and motivate me from my faith to even small things. Only RFR could give me such a realization from a film moment I’ve watched for almost 30 years but never saw from that point of view. RFR FOREVER!

One of the best interviews you guys have done! Loved the convo, great job!

Peter Beisser

We definitely got our money's worth with this week's episode. 🙌

Diana Orr

I echo most everyone in the comments thoughts about this episode. Wow another great interview. I truly think you both are the best interviewers, because you are both great listeners. We are the luckiest listeners in the galaxy!

Brian Robinson

I already get their suggestions, since I'm also a fan of their Dark Side of the Ring series. lol

Brian Robinson

A true testimony to the special conversation you guys were having, Brian was having so much fun he didn't want to break away to his next call. Great episode, now I need to go watch the final four of The Clone Wars again.

Jeff Holland

Great episode! Gotta have Brian on again. Would love to see him and FJ on at the same time. Can you just imagine the amount of cuss words that would be said?!?! HA! And if JMac and Jason ever do a rewatch of the last 4 eps of CW, would LOVE to have Brian on again.

RobO from ChicagO

Just getting around to the documentary, really enjoying it.

Great Show! Would love to hear Brian on again.
