It's not the Millennium Falcon, it's the RFR Early Bird with this week's show for Patreon supporters first!

So much new info about George Lucas’s legendary special effects company has been revealed via new documentary series like “Light and Magic” and “Icons Unearthed: Star Wars”. In 1978, George moved ILM from Southern California up north to San Rafael into a facility on Kerner Blvd, where it stayed until 2005. Thanks to veteran filmmaker Sean House, RFR was recently allowed access to this former home of ILM and important location of film history. This is the place where STAR WARS special effects from EMPIRE to REVENGE OF THE SITH were created, not to mention RAIDERS, E.T., Jurassic Park and so many more groundbreaking films. It’s still in use today as 32Ten Studios and still creating amazing effects. Effects wiz Sean House joins us to talk about his career, his history with ILM and shares behind-the-scenes stories you’ve never heard before about working with George Lucas and Rick McCallum. Thanks to the help of loyal RFR listeners, Jason has solved his problem with Star Wars action figures falling down. We also talk about newer action figure releases from Black Series to Retro Vintage and more.

Solid, informative episode. And great videos and pics of Jimmy's trip. Definitely worth the sub bump to get that added dimension each week.

Blake Weaver

Wow super awesome interview. Those behind the scenes guys involved in Star Wars and other awesome projects always have the most fascinating stories to tell.

Fun episode, good interview, seems like a nice/cool guy.

ICC Con was a great way to start the summer! I will have to disagree with Jimmy the Retro figures. I would love to see them release all the old Kenner figures through the Retro line. It's the only way I could ever afford to have them all on the card. I would also like to see all the figures released we didn't get with Kenner (Beru, Owen, Sandtrooper, Dr. Evazan, etc.). The interview this week was amazing! I never thought of the Volume as modern Rear Projection but that is such a good description. Did Jimmy ever say how he met Sean? The stories were so awesome. I couldn't believe the med kit story as I never saw Rick telling George "no". Finally, the Salacious Crumb story was hilarious!! So much fun guys, thanks!

Both the Icons: Unleashed and Disney ILM series are fantastic. I only have a few episodes left and will be disappointed when I'm done. Phil Tippett is the unsung hero of the original trilogy. I can't imagine the hours he put in.

I tried watching maybe the first 20 minutes of the Disney ILM show and couldn’t get into it, should I power through? I loved the Unleashed series.
