STAR WARS Celebration III happened in Indianapolis back in 2005 to promote REVENGE OF THE SITH. RFR V.I.P. Eric from Phoenix was there and he's back on the Q&A to share his memories and experiences. Plus, talk about ANDOR, new STAR WARS collectible acquisitions and vintage Marvel comics.

Hey Jimmy, I said Lumiya the same way when i read those books at first.

Rebel Force Radio

Sorry the video for this got screwed up but Eric promises to send some photos to accompany his stories from Star Wars Celebration III. Coming soon!

Dan Rodriguez

My first Celebration was this one. Unforgettable experience. Got so see George Lucas in person for the first time like 10 rows back! Met members of the 501st for the first time. So many great memories. Looking forward to the show!

Epic fail on my end with technology tonight. Zoom just decided to be a pain. Thanks to Jimmy for being a total pro and not losing his patience with me.

My friend slept on the sidewalk in the sideways 30 degree sleet waiting for the George panel. We stayed in the room, eff that. We didn’t pack for cold weather and he was wearing all of our sweatshirts.

Eric from Phoenix

I definitely didn’t wait all night. Think I got there at around 5am? My wife went to the Star Wars Galaxies breakfast to meet her guild mates :). She totally ditched George. Galaxies was a Star Wars MMORPG we both played. So much fun.

RobO from ChicagO

I loved Star Wars Galaxies Eric! Spent many sleepless nights lost in that game. Played up until the New Game Enhancements.

Brian Robinson

I remember Star Wars Galaxies. If you watch the movie “A Great Disturbance” about a group of guys they follow through SW Celebration III, they spend some time in the SW Galaxies room. It’s worth a watch. https://youtu.be/UeZttXQDZos

Eric from Phoenix

I played from Beta 3 until it closed down in 2011. So much fun! Played on Ahazi and was a Trandosan Ranger / Pistoleer until NGE. I played BH for a while in NGE but most of the time I was a Spy.

Brian Robinson

I bought the DVD a long time ago, but the full movie was on YouTube recently. The guy who made it contacted me, because we have lots of video footage, but I didn’t get it copied over to digital in time to submit it for the movie.

Glad you dug that box from Rancho. Haven't shared the tale, but Eric went out of his way to send me some awesome stuff a while back. I wanted to return that kind favor. And that's why this community (SW, RFR, Patreon) is so amazing. You get to make good friends with great fans like Eric.

Thank you Eric and Jimmy, and everyone else who shares their early Star Wars memories. I don’t know anyone personally who loves Star Wars like the RFR community. Many of you guys are older and were born in the OT era, but I feel such a strong connection to you all as if I should have been born even just 10 years earlier. Thank again for bringing me your world, I shall cherish it always.

Hey I’m so glad you let me know you liked the CD! That means a lot! You do look like a trombone player- makes total sense 😂. Glad you got it 15 min before you recorded so I got that sweet shout out 😂 😂

Dylan McGee

Great conversation, guys! Enjoyed the Bossk talk. Thought it might veer into a discussion about the Jeter books (Bounty Hunter Wars) where Bossk is an absolute badass. But since it didn't, I would love to hear your thoughts about those books at some point. Personally, I had my fill of flashbacks and stories-within-stories and three-dollar vocabulary words like "chitinous" after reading that triology, but the characterization is good. Bossk especially.

Eric from Phoenix

I’m glad you enjoy the discussion and feel like your part of the group. That’s the great thing about Star Wars, we’re all part of one family regardless of when you joined the family.

Eric from Phoenix

I love the music and can’t argue that I look like a trombone player. Key West is on our bucket list so hopefully we can time it so we can see you perform.

Eric from Phoenix

I never read the books and not sure I could handle “chitinous” :). My favorite portrayal of Bossk is from the Battlefront 2 video game that came out in 2017 (I think). He was pretty powerful and fun to play. I’ve always loved Trandosans and played one for over 8 years in Star Wars galaxies. I think there’s a ton that could be done with Bossk and the other Bounty Hunters in a live action setting. Would be awesome!

I'd really like some more info on what happened with LF and the sparrow trooper

You discuss if kids are watching My 11 year old loves it. A lot goes over his head on first viewing ( as it does mine) but we sit and watch on second viewing and he calls out the words before they speak. I think this could be a real Casa de papal / money heist grower where people will keep rewatching and start watching it for a long time to come It’s epic story writing

It’s just brilliant. It’s going to be a real classic. We can never get enough of the lower levels of Coruscant. It’s brill. The schedule is lovely in many respects….2 more weeks of andor then the World Cup to focus on then jan 4th when we’re all down and have the post Christmas blues we get bad batch season 2 Then mando then ahsoka! What a time to be alive!

Jeff Holland

Great episode as always! Love listening to you guys reminiscing on SWC3. You’re not gonna believe this - but I just finished up listening to this episode while I crossed Phoenix Drive (here in Virginia). LOL! I snapped a pic of it but we can’t post pics on the comment thread.
