I felt the no swimming thing was a bit weird. I am sure with at least hundreds of guys someone would have helped him to shore.

Stuart Rattai

Oh man I loved the convo on marketing and streaming success! On the point of marketing for this show... I agree with Jason where you can't have the same normal Star Wars marketing that you're used to having. I also wouldn't be surprised to find out that during testing and screenings of the show, the fandom fervor was lower than expected. In that case The marketing strategy might not be about a tentpole premiere in supporting the initial launch. But rather supporting it on the back half If word of mouth picks up, if they win a Emmy, etc. And lastly, just to bring up a point you guys were talking about a couple weeks ago - The KPIs and definitions of a successful streaming show is not the same as The success of a network television show. The way friends who work at HBO Max explain it is ...HBO Max doesn't judge its content solely on numbers of eyes watching during the launch period. Right now it's all about subscription numbers and maintaining those. New hit shows help that but having a catalog that is deep and wide is more important to long-term subscription numbers. All that is to say - these streaming services aren't approaching their shows in the way that network television has. Whether that's the importance of marketing to the value of initial launch window viewership. I mean we talked about Cassian and not having any marketing... What about tales of a Jedi which has a wider age range for audience demo? Where's My Chiquita banana yaddle promo?

I just want to say I am always impressed by the diversity and constantly new people who are calling in to the show. Nearly 15 years of listening to you guys talk the wars and it just keeps growing. That's a really cool thing!
