Celebrating 44 years of the STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL! Presented on CBS one-time-only on November 17, 1978, this show has become legendary & infamous among STAR WARS fans. We share our memories of the show with Steven Kozak, producer of the upcoming documentary “A Disturbance in The Force”, who joins us to share some interesting and hilarious Holiday Special info. Plus, we’re looking forward to the season finale of ANDOR with rumors and speculation about what we might see (and hear).

Great show! I can’t wait for the documentary to come out! When I was a child, I also thought I remembered seeing Harvey Korman drinking through his head in the movie. It wasn’t until a few years later when I was able to rewatch A New Hope on HBO that I realized that I was wrong.

Re: the commentary about the Bea Arthur song in the Catina, I had a thought about Steven's analogy between the Imperials (Nazis) and the Wookiees (Jews). That song could be seen as one of those Jewish songs of lamentation, sung around the time of the ghettos in Poland and elsewhere where the Nazis had a foothold. I don't know the specific term for those Jewish songs but I am sure I've read or heard descriptions of them. More broadly about the Special, it aired on Channel 10 down here in Australia in around 1982-1983 and I recorded it on VHS, making sure to edit out the adverts. I had that tape for years - until my Mum recorded one of her bloody wildlife specials over the top of it. I was kinda devastated until the early oughts when I picked up a bootleg DVD which had the special, the Muppets Star Wars episode with Mark Hamill and a whole bunch of toy adverts. Those ads in particular, remain a cherished favourite of mine. As always, a great episode boys!

These holiday special shows are some of my favorite every year. Good fun listen guys. Can’t wait for that documentary to come out. I don’t mind the holiday special. It’s goofy as all get out but it has a unique charm to it. And I really hope the Andor swearing rumor isn’t true. I stopped watching Andor weeks ago so my opinion doesn’t really matter. But I feel using one of the harshest words you can use in our real world in Star Wars will just open the door to more explicit content to be added in the future. Which I really don’t need in my Wars.
