If you ever drank a beer and thought to yourself: "This beer reminds me of a STAR WARS movie", then this is the Q&A for you! RFR V.I.P. Peter Beisser has arranged a beer tasting that pairs each beer with a film from George Lucas's Original Trilogy or the Prequels.  Peter explains exactly why each beer is paired to a particular film and the reasons can be many. Taste, appearance, graphic design of the logo on the can, and many more variables are involved. And, as you can imagine, with the beer flowing, the tangents and rants are not far behind! Listen with us or play along at home as we get fermented in The Force!

Alexander Gates

As a guy that likes beer (more than? same as?) the Wars, really looking forward to this! Cheers!

Jeff Ulicny

What would you pair with Resistance? White Claw? Capri Sun?

Tyler Page

Resistance, maybe sparkling grape juice? It’s fine, it’s there, but not what you really want.

Jeremiah Bietka

Listened to the first half on the way into work this AM. Haven't had this much fun since the lightsaber battles Q&A. Thanks!

Michael Nipp

Fantastic episode Pete and Jimmy Mac. This High Republic kids animated show that's coming out is the Coors Cutter of Star Wars beers.

Holden

This was fun to listen too! I’m not a much of a drinker anymore but the conversation was great loved hearing it. Fun Q&A and would love hearing a part 2!

Eric from Phoenix

I’m way behind on Q and As but looking forward to this one. Might get me to try something different.

Turtle Wars

This was a fun listen Peter! It was perfect for my 2 hours of driving this morning to represent my organization at a junior high school career day. But every time I heard the cans crack open and your first tastes, it did make me really want to have a cold tasty beer at 8am. I'm glad you threw in a stout. If I was doing this, I would probably pair every movie with different stouts and porters. Nothing better than some thick high ABV dark stouts on a blazing hot mid-summer day next to a roaring bonfire! I completely agree with you about the IPA analogy with sequels and movie making in general these days...it all has to be the same trendy formula. I don't personally like IPA's at all, and I have unfortunately turned into a bit of a beer snob as I've gotten older. Although, I will drink just about anything in a pinch or when it's offered.

Kirk Leppert

Loved the honest opinion on HC!!

Turtle Wars

Definitely, and probably out of a sippy cup would be most appropriate. I've only ever managed to make it through two viewings of that series, and that's probably more than most.

Nick Whenham

Bring on part 2! This was awesome fun.

Brandon B

I felt a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out for a beer. Great episode fellas I really enjoyed it. And Happy Birthday Jimmy Mac!

Brian Robinson

Is the sequel trilogy 3 types of MD 20/20?

Greg from New Jersey

Great concept! I’m from South Jersey so it was great to hear all the Philly references. Excited for Part 2

Cole Ziegler

Great episode! Definitely need a part 2

Joe Dallas

I love the creative concept here and pairing your knowledge with Star Wars. Very unique and very cool.

Scott Osterkamp

There’s a reason Hayden is a farmer Jimmy and I think you found it. I know quite a few and they are quiet, private, and polite. Thinking he shouldn’t have been in movies!

Tyler Page

Very fun listen! I’d love to go to a Phillies game with you if I can ever make it out Peter! But also important, Chicago is the beer capital of the US so we gotta get your ass out here man!

Joe

I appreciate all the detail that Peter put into choosing the beer. It was fun to hear the discussion that it inspired. I hope there is a part 2!

Jon Edmondson

Definetly need a part 2. Loved it.

Blake Weaver

We need a part 2! This was AWESOME to listen to. I’ll have to play along if we get it.

Casimir Fornalski

I lived in Pottsville for a while until I migrated down to Lancaster. Can attest that Yuengling is solid, dependable, reliable, and never lets you down, even if it's a bit, how you say, uncomplicated. Very much how I feel about A New Hope. Would love to see the PA and Tri-State RFR fans convene someday!

Jared Cantor

Loved this concept! It's always amazing what happens when the mic is hot and Jimmy and the VIPs get going

Patrick Palen

I've been listening to these since you guys started the Q&A series, and this has been one of my most favorites! Thanks Peter and Jimmy for doing this episode! And yes, please bring a part 2!!

Jared Cantor

Oh yes, absolutely make a sequel for the sequel trilogy (and then maybe a standalone or two for the streaming series. I'd love to hear what beers pair with Mando season 1 vs 2 vs 3).

Ben P. Stein

Great premise for a Q&A! Though I am not much of a drinker (I drink socially maybe once a week), I always enjoy listening to the two of you talking and I learned about some good beverages along the way. It was a thrill to hear my name mentioned near the end of the program along with some of the other VIPs. Looking forward to the streaming and sequel trilogy drinks!

Brian Frith

Loved this idea! Do it with chocolate and I’ll be right there beside you 😋

Manoah Crane

Just finished the Q&A and love the openness jimmy has. Looking forward to the next one

Sean W. from Warsaw

Sorry I'm so late to this one. I feel bad because I got a shoutout too! Wow, being mentioned in the ranks of Ben Stein, Joe Dallas, and others is enough to make a man's head blow up! Thank you so much, Peter! It is an honor. Glad I can be doing these crazy Q and A's beside you guys! :)

Sean W. from Warsaw

I'm not a drinker at all, but I really appreciate the thought and creativity that went into this. I like what you said about the Cheerios. Lol Oddly, it reminds me of a weird way I sometimes think of movies, art, music, etc: Via color. For the longest time, every time I've thought of TESB I think of the color blue; ROTJ is green; ANH is orange; ROTS is black; and so on. Not really sure why these colors are associated with stuff like that.... lol

Ben P. Stein

Ditto except my thought was “being mentioned in the ranks of Sean, Joe, Peter” etc.! We have a great community of fun and interesting people!

RobO from ChicagO

Fun conversation, enjoyed the tangents of two friends just shooting the shit. The Last Jedi is an O’douls to me…. “Beer” by name but no alcohol. 🤣😂

Javier Solorzano

What I admire THE MOST about; - what from here on out will be known as "Jmac's Chrisitian Hayden Melt-Down", is that Jmac let it roll......even though he could have removed it; he left it in the Podcast. Now that's legit, all respect Jmac.

Brian Frith

Looking forward to episode 2. Great episode guys 👍🏻🍻

David Glading

This was such a great idea, looking forward to part 2 as well!

Todd Stewart

I just finished this episode. As an amateur beer snob I really enjoyed it. Great job, Peter. Wish we could order the custom 6-pack. Looking forward to Part 2.

Jeff Holland

Love the concept of this Q&A! Great episode! Gotta have part 2 (and 3, 4, …)! And I say you do all of SW. I want to know what beer to drink with the Ewok and Droid cartoons! Ha! I drank Yeungling all throughout my 20s/30s (not so much now). The late 1970s/early 1980s Phillies were (are) my fav MLB team. Mike Schmidt is my all time fav player! I have all his baseball cards. Anyways, can’t wait to listen to Part 2. Peter - appreciate the time you put in thinking of each beer for I-VI.

Eric from Phoenix

Great concept and execution Peter!!! So much fun and I was disappointed our local bar didn't have any of the beers.

J. Robert Cipriano

I didn’t listen to this when it originally aired. I started with the four hour long extravaganza from August first. But I enjoyed it so much I went back and found the original beer pairing! Very cool insight and I’m looking forward to completing the trilogy with part two!
