At least it was cool seeing all those droids.....

With all of the cameos in this episode I thought it felt like an episode of Love Boat or Fantasy Island, or any other old weekly series that had the special guest of the week. It just didn’t feel like Star Wars.

Patrick Palen

Yeah the cameos took me out it. Great ideas were in this episode, and as a prequel guy, I loved the droids and Ugnaughts mixing together. But the tangent this episode took had a really low reward in itself. This episode's subplot felt more appropriate for Star Trek. If anyone else loved it though, I'm genuinely happy for them. 👍🏼

Honestly guys I’m struggling. The season 2 finale felt enormous, and it’s all been undermined. Grogu is back, that enormous emotional moment didn’t matter. Gideon has escaped, so that didn’t matter, Bo is just going to take the dark saber with a loop hole after all, and Din learnt nothing from the whole dark saber affair. There wasn’t even any moral conflict internally or actual conflict between Din and Bo over the saber, which it seemed was bubbling. Mando is my favourite show, but at the moment Din just feels like a bumbling sidekick and Grogu feels like set dressing.

I’m a die hard Mando fan, but I can’t come up with any redeeming qualities for this. ESPECIALLY as it’s 6 of 8. It goes deeper than “Lizzo?? Wtf??”, like this a fundamentally different show to season 1. Very Disney parks. It could be set in the galactic star cruiser. Din is second hand smoke on his own show 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love Mando and this was just bizarre. It was like a Disney Princess show. Mercenaries going after a runaway Romeo and then cut to the princess palace. It was seriously so disappointing. It felt like someone stuck in a joke episode… Find a rogue droid? And then all the build up about the dark saber was - here have it. Lol. What in the world?? I love Jack Black but this was just a cheese ball episode. So disappointing. Love your show. Sad.

Toby Mann

Nicely said. It feels like there is a decent story in there somewhere but it is being badly told. All the elements are right but it’s just not coming together. Wonder if that is a result of trying to “fix” things that went wonky when the pinhead cowards at Disney fired Corano for daring to express an opinion. In THE country known for championing it…

Peter Beisser

Such a great episode that I fell asleep on the aftershow. Darn.

This was just a bad episode. So bad that it makes the rest of the season worse. Outside of seeing some cool droids There is really nothing redeeming about anything here. It's like they had the bones of an interesting story about a planet that has given their society over to droids so that they could only pursue hedonistic pleasures. but but then they just gave it up for cheap stunt casting.

Kenny

Wow what a dumpster fire of a episode. I'm so disappointed. 😔 I waited like 1.5 years for a 8 episode season and this is episode 6????! 😐

The Mind's Eye Studio

Can’t believe no one talked about the amazing cameos by the Ron and Clint Howard ugnaughts meeting with Mando and Bo. Can’t figure out if the third one is a take on anyone, though.

Pistol Pete

I thought it was fun and very visually pleasing. I obviously would have chose some recasting but I agree with Yak Face here on his recent tweet. But everyone’s entitled to their opinion. Just enjoy Star Wars. Good Entertainment by Jimmy and Jason as always. “I’ve rewatched Ep 6 of Mando and have done a complete 180 on it. This is an episode of Law & Order with Mando as Stabler and Bo-Katan as Benson. It completely fits the formula of a crime drama including the special guest stars. I don’t know why I didn’t see it before. 9/10” -Yak Face Twitter

Wowza, idk how I feel, will have to rewatch the episode. Look forward to the aftershow. All the cameos definitely took me out of it, at least throw some paint or some lekkus on em.

Wow, I thought my wife and I were the only ones who didn't like this episode...then I read the comments here. Lol Hoo boy.... Yeah, we turned to each other and said, "This one felt really...off...." I don't know how else to put it. The pacing was...off. The story was...off. I thought that reuniting the Mandos would have a bit more weight to it, a heavier story or something more serious. I loved seeing prequel love in this and I think the worldbuilding with the New Republic stuff is interesting, but the execution of it is all...off, in this episode anyways. I get it, not every season is gonna have every episode fire on all cylinders; but when you're limited to 8 episodes or so a season, something like this feels like a real departure.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Dude, I totally feel you! I brought alot of your same feelings up in my most recent Q&A with Jimmy. I'm not really getting the direction anymore. I'm still locked into the Mandalore stuff, but...I don't know.... I'm really crossing my fingers for a payoff that's gonna knock our socks off but man, it's like what Jason was saying before: I keep feeling like it's one big setup at a dinner banquet people keep advertising is coming. Give me the food already! Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing meals. I'm hungry for that!

Simon Yacoby

If this was one of the first episodes of the season it would be kind of acceptable or if we had 16 episodes more so... But we should be begining the crescendo and instead we just had a Lego Star wars holiday special side quest. Furthermore, the dark saber dealt with via a Viking camp fight and a technicality after over 20 episodes of build up! It seems now that the main event will be the mythosaur in the last episode and Moff Gideon will be an end of season tease. Hope not! Great show as always guys!

Brandon B

Though it wasn't one of my favorite episodes, I can appreciate what they were trying to do. I think you disguise the cameo's with some makeup/prosthetics so they aren't so in your face. Also shorten up the buddy cop story-line a bit and extend the Mandalorian story-line and you have a pretty good episode. I am also not surprised or mad at Bo getting the Dark Saber back. The saber belongs with the individual who will lead the Mandalorian people. That was never going to be Din. His path is intertwined with Grogu who is destined for far greater adventures. I hope.

RobO from ChicagO

Prior to the episode I had no idea who or what Lizzo is, but I instantly knew she wasn’t an actress once she started talking. And I love Jack Black, but I kept expecting him to start singing about cock push-ups and picks of destiny. *Edit* Why did they even “reunite” Grogu and Mando if BOTH were going to be sidelined in their own story. You’re telling me they couldn’t have done this entire season minus Grogu, then somewhere down the road in other seasons have them reunite? It was totally a move for $$$$$$$.

Dean

The only thing that would have made this episode better was guest appearances by Marion Ross, Tom Bosley, Ricardo Montalban, Captain Stubing and BEA ARTHUR!!

Stephen Collester

So many people claiming to be fans and not willing to have a little fun.

Bolder Boulder

I personally enjoyed this week’s episode. I had fun watching it. I loved seeing some good ole Battle droids also! I thought the Jack Black part was pretty funny. It wasn’t too off putting for me. But, I do expect the next few chapters to have a big impact on the story

CAMBOT

I liked this past episode too. I don't want the same flavor or ice cream over and over and over. It's cool that they mix it up every now and again. Super Battle Droids actually looked threatening for once. I thought the humor in this episode fit well into the universe and didn't overdue it. I liked the call back to a Duku loyalist too. All good to me.

Layton Whitman

I’m not a Lizzo fan and had to ask my son if that was a celebrity (he was very disappointed in me). I agree that her acting was sub par but not drastically more than every second character in the prequel trilogy. I’m a Jack Black fan and have a soft spot for Christopher Lloyd, so their appearances were more fun than disappointing for me. All told I can’t quite get behind the backlash about the casting. HOWEVER I entirely agree the story is a little weak at this point. Hopefully the last two eps will redeem it!

I didnt even know who Lizzo was and I’ve never been a jack black fan except for king fu panda but I really enjoyed this episode! Maybe that’s why folks because I watched it for what it was a bit like through the eyes of a child Maybe those complaining need to take a step back and watch it for what it is instead of the so called stunt cast or trend cast that it is! Maybe watch it with a different point of view MTFBWY
