The Babu Freaks have returned for another monthly hangout! A Freak is getting married! We congratulate fellow Freak Brian as he shares news of his upcoming nuptials. We discuss the movie scene thus far in Summer '23 including The Flash and Spider-Man. We recap our latest hangout at The Galloping Ghost and our now traditional Malort toast. Our conversation naturally turns to Star Wars with discussion of Bor Gullet, Neal Scanlon's creature shop, and the legendary CD Rom from the late 90's, "Star Wars: Behind The Magic". Plus, Funko Pops, Kevin Smith films, and the classic sitcom "Taxi".

Congrats on the engagement, Brian! 👏👏👏 And you've got another "Behind the Magic" CD-ROM fan here Can't find a modern computer to play it on though.

I wish I had a babu freaks chapter in AZ, lol. These episodes are so entertaining

Congrats Brian! I can see the headline now: ‘Star Wars super fans, the ‘Babu Freaks’, explain the sequel trilogy in one wild bachelor party. Spoiler alert: somehow Tawny Kitaen survived.’

I would totally give up a toe while drinking Malort to become an official Babu Freak…I’ve got 10 toes and can spare one 😛

Thanks everybody! I also would like to make an editorial correction. It has been brought to my attention by Brother Rich Brendle that the Daniel Day Lewis movie that was confused/ inter-swapped with No Country For Old Me was not Gangs of New York. It was There Will Be Blood. My bad :P I guess I need to polish up my DDL movie knowledge

Fun as always guys! The Behind the Magic CD was awesome. Only issue I had with the CD was that my computer could barely run it. Pools are the best. We float in ours almost every weekend evening and our favorite thing to do is to look for satellites. We live in a metro area so we don't have super dark skies but depending on the time of the month we can see stars / satellites pretty well. Our record is 18 satellites in one float. We have to do this is 90 minutes or less as that is roughly how much time it takes them to make it around the earth and then we would be counting them a second time. This is all done with a few adult beverages and classic 70's / 80's music. Thanks to Joe from Dallas I now know that the music I like is called Yacht rock and there are actual Yacht rock channels. lol I only got two packs of Solo cards at Dennys but I did get two menus :) I love that Tyler always has to do all the planning. Congrats Brian!!
