When you were a kid, did you ever "create a galaxy of adventures with Play Doh™"?  RFR V.I.P. Eric from Phoenix sure did and he's back on the Q&A to show us some of his recent acquisitions from Phoenix Fan Fusion, including some vintage STAR WARS Play Doh accessories! But don't worry, this is hardly a full show dedicated to Play Doh! Eric brought us some audio highlights from the con including clips from panels with THE MANDALORIAN's Katee Sackoff and SOLO's Paul Bettany! Plus, Eric reviews Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny and more!

Eric from Phoenix

Sorry in advance for the La La Lando audio not being loud enough and forgetting that Larry posted the original Indy 4 script on the community page.

Peter Beisser

All forgiven. Just glad you’re helping Jimmy usher in the first new RFR content since June. Can't wait to listen!

Joe Dallas

Yeah man! Yacht Rock! Steely Dan!! Floating in pools! Yep!! I’m currently floating in a pool in Hawaii listening to your show! Eric from Phoenix rocks!

My wife and I Had the SAME reaction to the IMAX version of Dial of Destiny — it was too overwhelming to enjoy. The sound of the action scenes completely drowned out the dialogue. This final scene was to the point of ear aches. Need to see Dial again in a normal theater.

Funny how the smell of those tshirt iron-on shops came up. That was the first thing I thought of. I can still smell that steamy-plasticy goodness. I miss my yoda iron on shirt. We're not going to talk about my village people one.

Eric from Phoenix

It is a very specific smell. When I read your last two sentences I immediately thought of Yoda singing YMCA and got a nice laugh.

Eric, your conversations with Jimmy are always so enjoyable. Thanks for the recap of Phoenix Fan Fusion. I’m impressed that you got to ask so many questions at the panels; they were all good ones. And in fact I thought it was super-cool that you launched right into the question for Paul Bettany even during the unexpected applause at the mention of Solo. You came across as an unflappable reporter — and you were, for the RFR community!

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Ben! I loved how the panels were 98% crowd questions. That made it very interesting. I was surprised that 98% of the questions were really good too :)

Matthew Krahn

Jimmy. The heat is really only bad for a few months. It’s wayyyyyy better than shoveling snow

Tyler Page

Good recap of the con! Screw that question Nazi though I would’ve just lied to him after he told me no

RFR Q&As are my chicken soup for the soul! Really enjoyable ep Eric! Great questions and recap of the con, and I always like hearing about/seeing people’s collections. Do you have a favourite item in your collection?

Eric from Phoenix

I was going to bring that up but let it go. Also, I grew up in Iowa and it wasn’t unusual to get 30 degree below 0 windchill. No thanks. I’ll take the 116.

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks! Great question on favorite item. I have one that comes to mind but I need to think about it more.

Todd “Suds” Sedlacek

Always love listening to EFP and Jimmy chat! Great to hear the questions at the panels, you really got some good answers !

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Suds! I loved that they made the panels all about crowd questions. Celebration used to be much more like that but sadly there aren’t nearly as many fan questions.

Eric from Phoenix

Okay, while I’m on a flight to Chicago (I’ll wave at the Freaks, Suds and Jim) I think I landed on my favorite item. It’s a Blue Snaggletooth Kenner figure. The main reason is the story and the deal I got on it. I think I talk to Jimmy about it on my first or second Q and A.

Joe Dallas

That’s three out of four- just add Maui and that’s my trip. Today is Maui!

Javier Solorzano

Oh, Jmac!! The nostalgia feels you hit w/ the remembrance of all the SW iron-on T-shirt sellers that popped-up in Malls across America in the late 70's. The iron-ons did have that shinny, smooth, rubbery (almost slimmy) finish & feel. Some had sparkly particles in them (like in metallic paint), so they would sparkle like a Disco Ball!! After buying your T-shirt you'd then go to Orange Julius & get a smoothie drink & then go play video games at the arcade!! Where's that Dial of Destiny?.....I want to go back!

Eric from Phoenix

Joe, I’ve been listening to Yacht Rock on my flight while doing work email. Makes email so much better

Turtle Wars

Awesome! I loved seeing those pristine original Death Star play set instructions. What a great stored away find from childhood! It’s tough to think about all the SW toys I lost from childhood and had to work on replacing later in life. I also had my share of iron on shirts back then, great times! The Takara wind-up R2 has a piece of tape with the blue coloration, one on the back and one on the front, it’s not paint.

Brian Robinson

I’m a Katee Sackhoff fanboy since Battlestar Galactica. Just an FYI for Eric. She did have a new baby in her life before S3 of the Mandalorian, but she had a baby through a surrogate. She didn’t have to get back into shape, but she did have to juggle parenting. She has praised her husband for his support when the baby was brought home and filming started shortly after.

RobO from ChicagO

Fun listen Eric, thanks for the show and tell and audio highlights from the convention.

Jared Cantor

Another great VIP episode with Eric. I've been waiting and waiting to see Jimmy's collection, dating back to when it was one of the patreon tiers many years ago. Jimmy - for me at least, seeing a collector's collection grow and change over time is part of the fun. I follow a big TVC collector on Youtube and he's in the process of video blogging the building of a new collection room in his attic and then the setting up of the new display space. It's really fun to watch. I never did it for public viewing, but I've also kept a photographic journal of my collection's growth and changes since 2015 and I am glad I did. I moved in 2021 and it's nice to be able to look at how things appeared in my old setup, especially because I massively downsized my SW literature collection when I moved.

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Jared! I would love to see Jimmy’s collection. There was a past Q and A we did where we got a peak on the other side of the door. Not sure which of my Q and As that was though.

Jeff Holland

Awesome ep as always Eric. Loved the recap of the Fan Fusion event. Kudos to you for 1) being brave enough to ask questions as panels (I always want but chicken out); and 2) actually asking an interesting question that elicits a good response.
