Rebooting STAR WARS?

We react to recent comments from director Matthew Vaughn about his desire for an opportunity to recast and reboot the Original Trilogy story and characters. While the next STAR WARS streaming series, SKELETON CREW, is still shrouded in relative mystery, we look back at the last time lead actor Jude Law appeared on The Tonight Show and listen closely for clues about the upcoming show. Director Sean Levy is attached to an upcoming STAR WARS film and we review quotes from a recent interview he did with Variety. Just in time for Halloween,  former LANDO writer Justin Simien talks about getting ghosted by STAR WARS. We try to read between the lines. Plus, Star Wars In Pop Culture, "Chatterback Chopper", and a word unique to Star Wars has been added to the dictionary.

You don’t get to recast and reboot Star Wars. Not a chance. That’s like saying “we are going to recast your parents” If they’re no longer interested in the OT, then sell it or put it in storage. It’s too important. This isn’t fantastic 4!

Why are reboots so popular? Why can’t writers have the ability to come up with an original idea within an established universe? The reason the franchise is so popular is because of the original stories. Lazy in my opinion. There are surely people out there who can come up with some great ideas to incorporate within the existing canon without rebooting it? I hear some great ideas on the RFR after-shows that honestly I’d love to see but they usually don’t happen. The nice thing to me is that even if I don’t like some of the new series coming out, I still have the original films and prequels to watch, but if it’s rebooted then none of that exists or matters anymore.

Love the explanation as to why we don’t see Ahsoka during the Galactic Civil War and in particular anything relating to Vader. Very clever. That makes a lot of sense.

Any thoughts on why episode won’t go Full screen? On ipad?

Kathleen Kennedy shouldn’t be a manager at Dennys let alone the head of Lucasfilms.
