Before the internet, STAR WARS fans learned about upcoming Kenner action figure releases from small catalogs inserted into the packages of playsets and vehicles. For many fans, seeing the action figure before its release was often the first time actually seeing the character itself. RFR VIP Scott St Louis remembers those days fondly so we flip through a collection of them and look back at a more simple time for fandom.

Man, that was a great walk down memory lane! Thanks for the cool topic Scott. And thanks for showing off your real catalog collection Jimmy. Makes me wish I still had all of mine! I got lucky and saw my email notification for the life day chewie figure and was able to secure one in the first few minutes it went on sale. It arrived two days later. I usually miss out on these kind of quick sales and pre sales.

Wow, flashbacks to my own landspeeder decals misalignment!! You guys sometimes... really hit the feels!👍

Eric from Phoenix

Fun discussion guys. Jimmy, I’ve had shaky hands since I was a kid and I was terrible at putting on the decals. Also, I hated the Milton Brady Operation game. I was awful at it. Love the discussion on the old Kenner catalogs. They were so awesome when we were kids and still relatively cheap to pick up now. So fun to look through. I shared a retailer catalog from Jedi with Jimmy in one of my Q and A’s (got it from my grandparents). They were so awesome to get way in advance of the toys coming out.

Pretty sure Tyler sold that White Sox Mando bobble for $150 on EBay

Loved this episode! In many ways, this was like a sequel to Jimmy Mac’s cameo on the Galaxy of Toys podcast a few years back, when he came on to discuss the 21-back figures. Great stuff!

Greg from New Jersey

Great episode! Strange to think how enjoyable it is to listen to two guys flip through a catalog from over forty years ago, but it really was! Looking forward to more in this series.

Just finished up while traveling. Scott saying how Jimmy and Jason have been with him throughout his son's life rang true to me. Hearing people talk for years and years is a real special experience. To now talk with one of those voices, it's pretty cool, Scott. Great episode.

Mando bobble head has been sitting in my car for a couple months! Still has your name on it.

I can’t wait to talk ESB, as that was the high water mark of my vintage Star Wars collecting. Back when it was just “collecting”

Thankfully my mom did most of my sticker placement until I became proficient—my first landspeeder was a mess!
