Now, I’ve got Glenn Frey in my head all day…

Maddie G

I really expected Pod to try and either charm the beast or lure it away with pizza! I wonder how many combat rounds it would have taken for rfr2 to cook a pie. Since it is the season, here is a poem I wrote last year based on ‘the night before Christmas’. In loving memory of Vendry (he’s not dead, he just got sick of Pod and left). ‘‘Twas the night before life day, when all through the ship, Not an engine was whirring, no hyperdrive drip The tool belts were hung by the ramp with care, In the hopes that Matt Rashid would soon be there. Pod Castis was nestled snug in his bed, While visions of grand slams danced in his head. Don’t forget RFR2, and Vendry in his cap, They had just settled down, for a nap When out in on the landing pad, there arose such a clatter, Vendry rose from his post to see what was the matter. He went down the ramp, like a flash, To turn the intruder into tomorrows trash. Three moons kept the area light, While Vendry kept watch for anything slight, When he sees nothing, his panic decreases, Until he spots a speeder, with no need for vulptices. With a humanoid driver, looking unabashed, Vendry knew it had to be Matt Rashid! Matt mumbled and muttered, but remained steadfast, Until he exclaimed, “It’s filled with sand; Karabast!” Now Luke! Now Anakin, now Tin, and Qui Gon Jin! Now Yoda, Windu, billaba and Gallia! Matt lifted his head to the sky, “please help me masters!” As he kicked his speeder and it roared to life, he narrowly avoided a disaster. To avoid the stormtroopers, he must be sly. So because of the imperial blockade, he is forced to the sky. To the top of the forest he flew, With a speeder of gifts, and Matt Rashid too. And then, in a twinkling, Vendry heard on the roof, Something that sounded like a moof. As he withdrew his blaster, and turned around, Up the ramp Mat Rashid came, with a bound. He was dressed in something certainly out of place, Something certainly not from this space. And on his back was a pack that looked to be filled with food, Something Vendry hoped would not make him feel like poodoo. The book ‘Age of Rebellion’ was held tight in his hand, Along with a character sheet, which he had pre-scanned. He had an app that could roll the dice, Which Jimmy Mac found was actually quite nice. He was patient and careful, a wonderful game master, And a fine podcaster. Full of knowledge, and very well read. And soon gave Jimmy Mac nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, wrinkling his nose and the dirty dash screen, Filling all the stockings, with white dice and beans. Pod Castis arose thinking Matt was force sent. And after giving a knowing nod, down the ramp Matt went. He sprang to his speeder, and gave it a good kick, And away he went, as quick as a KKryytch But Vendry heard him exclaim, as he went out of sight, Merry life day to all, and to all a good night!

Maddie! I’m touched and speechless. How amazing is this? Thank you! I miss Vendri and you just gave me an idea for the next adventure!

Mike James

Reminded me of my KOTOR 2 gaming experiences fighting the zakkeg. Those are tough beasts! Congrats grando and pod 👍

RobO from ChicagO

Is this pizza more so like Lou Malnatis, Aurelio’s, or Giordanos? I need to know for my listening pleasure.

Eric from Phoenix

Always a fun listen. Love the random pop culture stuff Matt throws out. My mind works the same way. I knew Jesse the Body was off making an Arnold movie because they talked about it when he wasn’t announcing the WWF on USA :). He was gone a long time.

Mike James

Oh no this was a fully mature zakkeg! I look forward to one of those taking you guys on in future adventures! 😉👍

Matt Rashid

I remember that, too Eric. Jesse was one of the more regular appearing of the top tier wrestlers, as I recall, so it was noticeable when he was absent.
