Another great episode of the freaks!

Another fun episode of the freaks! i don’t think it’s franchises that are the issue, I think that it’s the cinema experience and the speed of which things go to streaming that people wait when they can get it for free. As for the marvels, I really enjoyed it but I think what hurt that film was the promotion - I didn’t even know it was coming out until maybe a month before because no one was promoting it. As for the red blade, I really liked it, except for the epilogue. We need a Star Wars book club because I don’t really see anyone talk about them.

My issue is the “event” of it all is dead. With Star Wars, it was a trilogy with 2-3 years between films. Three part story. With the MCU it used to be maybe 5-6 movies per phase building to a team up event. Now, it’s like… five movies, five (!!!) TV shows building to nothing with no event film to cap it off. Casuals can’t enjoy it anymore. It’s homework. DC gets grief but I applaud them for sticking to movies and not releasing so many per year. I actually think Man of Steel, BvS: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman and The Flash is a solid enough six part story where every JL member gets the spotlight and the story comes full circle. Any of the other DCEU movies are offshoots one can enjoy if they liked the core films.

Maddie, come join us on our Source Pages spin-off podcast, The Sacred Jedi Texts :) We're currently covering the "Darth" books: We already have released Revan, and currently covering Bane Trilogy then Plagueis, but we will eventually be caught up and cover the current novels. We're planning on a Phase 2 of The High Republic episode soon as well ;)

Great time as always! On the new Marvel stuff, I think the biggest issue is that they feature tier 2 or 3 characters. The casual fans don’t know who they are or why they should care about them. The only exception is Spider-Man but that is run by Sony. All of those movies have done really well and they are a ton of fun (well cast and written). Peacock- don’t get me started. I had to get this so I could watch two of the Hawkeye football games this season. Awful experience because I couldn’t switch back and forth with other channels to check on other games. Andrea and I just re-watched Batman 1989. It’s such a good movie. In fact, that might be the first time we ever watched it together. My father-in-law is constantly yelling, “hey Google” at his phone. It usually takes him two to three tries to actually get it to search what he’s looking for. lol Congrats Brian! If you seriously have an open party this summer we might try to get out there. Would be great to see you guys again and Andrea and I could hit the Ghost.

All the Siri talk got my phone too! You bastards! LOL! And congrats to Brian on the upcoming wedding!
