Sometimes teachers connect with students via lessons, lectures or assignments. RFR VIP Tanya from San Diego uses STAR WARS in the classroom making her the coolest teacher around. Tanya makes her RFR Q&A debut and discusses her life as a STAR WARS fan, her visits to Star Wars Celebrations, Disney parks and Rancho Obi-Wan, and even shares a page or two from an actual STAR WARS textbook she has in her collection. Plus, we look forward to the upcoming final season of THE BAD BATCH, and Tanya made some amazing STAR WARS chocolates!

Congratulations on your first Q&A, Tanya! I’ve just started listening to it and look forward to hearing the rest of it tonight.

Matt Rashid

Congratulations on Q&A #1. Looking forward to listening!

Turtle Wars

Great that you made it to the Q&A Tanya! Will be listening/watching your episode after work this evening.

Jared Cantor

So happy to hear from Tanya as a new VIP!

Brian

Welcome to the new VIP!

Kirk Leppert

Really enjoying this right now! Great topics/convo!

Tyler Page

Lots of fun and energy in this show! Plus not a lot of fellow punk / deadhead combos out there which is always welcome!

Ben P. Stein

Great first show, Tanya! My kid and I are also big fans of stop-motion animation including Ray Harryhausen. Jimmy, the 976 numbers in NYC were exactly the same as the specific ones in Chicago for sports, weather, etc! Finally I found Jimmy’s testimonial in the Kindle version of the Craig Miller book. It’s the first edition, Nov 2019, but perhaps it’s different from the hardcopy version.

Peter Beisser

Good stuff, Tanya! Had a great time listening. Glad you're on board with the Q&As. 🍻

Turtle Wars

Wonderful job with your Q&A debut Tanya! I’ve always assumed you were pretty damn cool based on many of your comments, and you certainly verified that here. That’s what’s great about these Q&As, getting an honest oral presentation and education about everyone’s fandom from locations all over the map. The Misfits, punk rock, Grateful Dead, classical music, Star Wars, educator…eclectic interests covering some great stuff. A Mozart interruption is always welcome. I think another possibility for Asajj is resurrection with Nightsister magick. I wonder if Kylo wrote It’s not easy being mean with Bluto from the 1980 Popeye movie? Did you go to Punk Rock Bowling in Vegas last summer? I almost went but couldn’t fit it into my schedule. One of the bands I know from here went and played and they said it was a great time.

Very true, difficult to find people that appreciate that combo or similar. There was a local band here in Charleston a few years ago that played punked-up versions of Grateful Dead covers. The punks didn’t get it or didn’t care and the deadheads of course couldn’t handle the punk sound.

Probably my favorite Q&A episode so far!!!! Great job Tanya! Home run! And thank you for helping teach the next generation of Star Wars fans!!!! Keep up the good work!

Glad you enjoyed the episode! Teaching tiny humans is the best! 👩🏻‍🏫

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful words, Cris. A little Cosi Fan Tutte because Mozart was punk rock! Huge fan of Ventress and can’t wait to watch her storyline unfold. Missed PRB last summer…the cost now is just too high which is a pity. The after hours club shows are something to look forward to if you’re planning on going. Buy club show tickets early because they sell out fast. Thanks for listening…we are 138! ✊🏼💀

Thanks, Ben! Yes, I found Jimmy’s excerpt shortly after the Q&A…phew! Our lives can go back to normal now. 😅

TYLER! You da man! I once sold cookies in the parking lot at a Vegas Dead show to pay for my hotel room. $19 a night on the strip! Those were the days…sigh.

Haha. Glad you found it in your copy. That’s a great book. I enjoyed so much of your Q&A including the non-Star Wars parts. I loved your “Gemini” trick with astrologers.

I never got to see that band. They stopped performing before I started taking video and documenting the music scene here. However, the band was called Wake of the Blood and there are supposed to be videos out there, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere.

Luke

Petition for Tanya to be the official Music Teacher of RFR!

Guessing it was operator error on my part. I probably typed out my comments, got distracted and never hit the post button. Sorry that you wasted time looking into it Jim. At this stage in my life I forget more and more :)

Michael Gadonneix

Great show Tanya! Anytime Star Wars, the Cure, Misfits, Circle Jerks and Black Flag are all talked about in one place, my heart and respect is won! I hope you do this again!
