With THE BAD BATCH After Show underway, The Weekly RFR has moved to Saturday morning releases. But the RFR Early Bird remains committed to bring our supporters the show FIRST!

Lando Calrissian actor Billy Dee Williams has committed his life story to a new autobiography called appropriately “Hello, What Have We Here”. We feature highlights from the audiobook and welcome back “The Billy Dee Quote of the Week”. We have production updates for the upcoming STAR WARS streaming series THE ACOLYTE and feature film THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU, along with more about Gina Carano’s lawsuit against Lucasfilm. Plus, listener feedback about THE BAD BATCH, a write-in campaign for KENOBI season two inspired by Ewan McGregor himself, and find out how you can join us for a live “Star Wars Day” podcast on May The Fourth!

The guy who was captured by the Pikes was Vallorum's aide Selmon, not Sifa-Dyas.

Hey Jason and Jimmy! I think some of your recent episodes might be cut and/or edited a little incorrectly on the different podcatchers! I noticed on Apple Podcasts that the AfterShow from this week skips around a little bit and todays weekly RFR on Alexa randomly jumps back nearly 20 minutes right in the middle of your conversation about a second clone war on Mount Tantis all the way back to the Plagueis topic. I’ve been noticing this happen more often lately! Sorry for being a party pooper! 😣 But I love the show guys! Keep up the good work!!!!

You guys kept me company while doing yard work today. I always thought Sypho Dias was a bad guy who worked for Dooku? I haven't read a Star Wars book since 1999 so I learned something new today.

I would normally not want to wade into this sort of thing. I love the show and have supported for a while now, but this is my first comment. The" beep bop boop" comment made by Gina Carano was, I think, intended to denigrate trans people. In my estimation any decent human being would not seek to cleverly de-legitimize someone's gender, because it is a hurtful thing to do. I personally do not subscribe to pro-noun labels, so I am not a warrior for that movement. I have close friends who are trans people and they tend to agree it can be a bit of too much help from "allies". That said there is no cause to attack something just trying to make people feel valid. Gina apparently never learned "If you can't say something nice say nothing at all" It is my understanding the meeting with the representatives from the LGBTQ Disney employees was to be hosted by Kathleen Kennedy and Carano refused to attend. Who thinks that is a move you can make and keep your opportunities at Lucas FIlm? On Disney directing her to un-follow social media accounts. While I don't know for sure, I am guessing that had more to do with racist, homophobic, hate speech accounts that Disney would not want their brand associated with. It feels like you guys are eating up Carano's PR push and not thinking critically about it at all.

With all due respect, I claim childhood supremacy for the decade that took me from age 6 to 16: the 1990s. Reasonable men can disagree on sitcoms, cartoons, toys and breakfast cereals. However, the tiebreaker for kids of the 1990s was the advent of good, high quality home video games. Forget Pong and Dig Dug. I'm talking Super NES, Sega Genesis, N64, Sony Playstation. With games that were rentable at Blockbuster, back when you had to be physically in a room with your pals to play multiplayer. Sorry boys, but 90s video games are the trump card. It was the last and best decade to be a kid. At least we can all feel sorry for today's iPad youths together.

"Not right wing. Not left wing. X-wing." As long as we can all stick to that mantra, we'll all be good to go.

Where do you stand on Lucasfilm strong arming their cast and crew to add pronouns to their bios? I believe this is what Gina was pushing back against with her "Beep Bop Boop" comment and not making commentary on the actual gay community. She was fighting back and being flippant about the corporation making harsh demands on her, and I believe we made that point on the show. As for "eating up her PR", you are discounting everything we've said in the past about the blame being a two-way street in this situation. We certainly have recognized Gina's faults and bad moves as this has unfolded. Right now, we are only hearing Gina's side to the story - her "PR push" as you put it - so we can only comment on what she says. But the more we learn, the more we believe we can place the blame on ignorance and naivety, not hatred. - JMac

I had said in the original post I am not a supporter of pronouns and find Lucasfilm insisting upon them heavy handed. She made have started with ignorance but once informed she basically did the "i'm sorry what i said offended you" apology and then doubles down with the victim card being attacked by woke hollywood. (which is probably real but you want a show maybe consider your environment). Discounting everything you have said - I probably had some recency bias there. Apologies there i find you guys to be very thoughtful people in my years of listening. I am particularly put off with Carano and her actions crashing into Sci-fi and Star Wars in particular. (i recall when she did the bee boop beep thing I recall thinking "leave R2 out of your politics") I find the inclusive messaging of most Sci-fi a reassuring and hopeful. This likely makes me a little less logical... But when someone punches down and then cries wolf about being bullied it sits poorly with me.

Gina made her bed. I’ve no sympathy for her. It’d be nice if the show stopped trying to prop her up. She doesn’t deserve it. Also, PBD is a right-leaning conservative podcast. So for those who care, take that for what it is.

This pod will go down in the history as Norah’s villain origin story.

Just finished listening to most of this episode. Had to skip the Bad Batch stuff for spoilers, though: Haven't watched the show yet! Life has been too busy.... But hoping to sit down with the Mrs. soon and check it out! Anyways, great show, gents! Keep 'em coming!
