Hey guys,

Here's the new demo for you guys to check out:

Let me know if any of my patrons need another build type other then Windows 64.

I also recorded a video showcasing the new improvements and updates to look out for that you can watch while you're waiting for the demo to download.  Check it out here:

Haha! I'll have to see if I can figure out how that happened. At least she has an appropriate facial expression for being eaten by a door. :P No, the story isn't implemented much yet, but we'll have more story for next build. :)

This version has very low performance. Going from "Fast" to "Simple" cuts the frame rate by more than half (from a low of mid-60's to mid-20's). There doesn't seem to be any major performance differences between "Simply" and "Fantastic", for that matter. So something in there activated by "Simple" and above is really dragging things down. Mind you, this is with hardware (Radeon Fury X) that runs essentially every game out there at 60fps on my 2560x1600 display, including all other Unity games I've played at the "Fantastic" setting.

Yes, the Daz models are more GPU intensive. I plan to spend the next few days skimming down the models in any way I can. I'm going to cut the texture size in half for starters. Right now they're all 2048x2048 but I can easily cut them down to 1024x1024 with hardly any visual difference. I also plan to optimize the clothing and hair more to bring the pixel count down. I want to leave the bodies as hi-res as possible, since in essence, it will be the main attraction. :)

Well, it'd have to be something about the modifications you've since made, since the original version you put out, using the same Daz models, runs at a constant 60fps at the highest settings.

Hmm. Am I missing something I found the painkillers but it wont let me give them to Patrick?

Are you talking about the original demo with the Daz models? Or the Daz models inside the new house? The orignal Daz models were optimized, and the house was very basic. In the new demo, the house has all kinds of new lighting and reflection effects, which are more processor intense, and then also the un-optimized models on top of that would do it. Once I get the models optimized, I think you should be ok. My GPU is actually running on Fanstastic well even un-optimized at the moment, so I know that the higher-end cards can run the game ok, but I will be optimizing for much less strain on GPU in the coming weeks.

Nice job finding the painkillers. I thought I hid them pretty well this time around. :) No, you're not missing anything. This is a demo mostly showcasing the new character interaction and game platform. The storyline is very minimal and not implemented much yet. Next update will have a lot more story.
