Hey guys,

Here's the beta version of the House Party 0.5.x series!  Not too many changes here from 0.5.5, but I did spend the last couple of days working closely with some of you who have been experiencing the random crashes, and I am happy to say that we were successfully able to figure out the issue thanks to a development build I was passing around.

It seems there is a bug in the latest version of Unity (they are aware and working on a solution) that was causing a crash on cloth components, (which is why the crashes were happening near Stephanie).  I've implemented a suggested workaround and I'm happy to say, it seems like the issue has been resolved, and the few users who have been using this version for a couple days have reported zero crashes.

I also re-baked all the lighting for OSX users who were experiencing black textures, but I have not tested whether or not this has been corrected.  This also seems like a side-effect of the Unity upgrade to me, so I will be watching for any patches that come out for 5.6, and also looking for any workarounds.

Something is wrong, "Start new game" spawns me in an empty house and I can't interact with anything...

This usually means that the House Party application cannot get to the internet to download the latest story. Double-check your firewall or anti-virus software isn't blocking the game from reaching the server.

Happens on a clean copy of the game with all the save-folders deleted.

For the Mac version the walls and doors are all black and cannot tell between then. Also all of the girls hairs are glitching and flashing.

This is an issue with the latest version of Unity and the way the lighting is baked that I am hoping they put out a fix for soon.

Couple nits to pick on the tutorial. The word "gauges" is misspelled "gages", and the phrase "vice versa" is misspelled (and misspoken) as "vice verse".

When I start the game i cant see the characters or interact with anything pls help give me a run through on how to fix this

There is an issue with Rachel during the "Katherine's D-mands" quest. With Madison or Patrick, if they are in the room after you give the necessary items to Katherine, you can make them leave with dialogue, but if Rachel gets into the room, and decides to lay on the bed, she gets stuck in a loop of walking directly into the side of the bed forever. because Katherine is already in the bed.

Yup that's what I meant. The problem was my firewall: I had the rule for this executable but for some reason it just didn't work. :P

yeah,Eek i had a problem when i saved the game i wasn't able to talk to Katherine again after i loaded the game back up?I have to restart which is easy to get back since i know her dialog .

0.5.6 is great. Just tried 0.3.3 for old time's sake, the house was like a warehouse back then. But I have to admit, I miss the heels. Not sure why everyone at this party has to wear flip-flops and flats all of a sudden.

The heels were causing some issues with the animations causing the feet to bend in un-natural ways. I will play with them more in the future, but I also felt not too many people are going to be wearing heels to a house party anyway, so the sandals and flats fit more.

seeing as madison is basically your slave, are we gonna get the options to do almost anything to her? I'm thinking if theres a sexual animation between someone else shouldnt it be with madison aswell?

Yes, but I am adding in new game mechanics as I add each new story, so initially they are getting applied to just the character in question. Once I get around to finishing up everybody's stories, I am going to go back around and add some of the new game mechanics back into the already existing stories.
