JAR JAR ON DISNEY+ | CHRISTIAN BALE IN THE MCU | NEW GODS UPDATE // Geekend Update

In this week's Geekend Update, we discuss a number of topics. First we discuss the Avatar sequel concept art and the Mercedes Benz AVTR concept car revealed at CES. We discuss the live action Peter Pan and Wendy film. We touch briefly about how Scott Derrickson left Doctor Strange 2, but we spend a lot of time discussing Christian Bale's involvement in Thor: Love and Thunder. The Hawkeye series has been put on an indefinite hold, following the allegations made against Jeremy Renner, and D23 removes The New Mutants from their website lineup after an error placed it in the MCU. Ava Duvernay's New Gods gets a brief update, Robert Aramayo is cast in the new Lord of the Rings series, and Jar Jar Binks shows up in Kenobi! SO MUCH NEWS. We break down why we believe the director left the project in the video below:https://youtu.be/X3-wcdQq72U https://variety.com/2020/film/news/doctor-strange-in-the-multiverse-of-madness-director-scott-derrickson-drops-out-marvel-1203462569/ • Christian Bale has been heavily rumored to be in talks for a role in Thor: Love and Thunder. According to Charles Murphy of Murphy's Multiverse, he sources tell him that Bale is in it and that he'll be involved in a motion capture role. Beta Ray Bill and Dario Agger are the two likeliest contenders. https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/what-i-heard-this-week-christian-bales-potential-role-in-thor-love-and-thunder/ • The Hawkeye series has been put on an indefinite hold, according to Murphy's Multiverse. There are conflicting reports stating this is untrue, according to the Verge. https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/exclusive-marvel-studios-hawkeye-series-delayed-indefinitely/ • The official D23 site claimed that The New Mutants was the "seriously electrifying new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe" briefly before removing the film from their sote entirely. The film is NOT in the MCU. Tom King is writing the script. No one has been cast. The fact that this film is still in this phase of gestation proves to me that Marvel had been planning an Eternals film far longer than WB’s New Gods.https://twitter.com/ava/status/1214701087271211014 • Birds of Prey Trailer 2 released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3HbbzHK5Mc • Robert Aramayo cast in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. The actor played a young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones.
