SpaceShipping - "Drill" & Thumbs (Patreon)

So the elephant in the room is that this is the last and as yet unfinished installment of SpaceShipping, and there are a couple of factors behind that. The short version is that I think I bit off a bit more than I could chew and then choked on it before getting sidetracked by life and picking things back up has become an intimidating affair. Somewhat embarassingly, I neglected to write an ending to this sequence beyond it escalating way out of proportion and I think that also contributed to this one stalling out. Endings are hard, and you should get them squared away early!This all said, there are nonetheless successes in this strip. Most obviously I was experimenting with a monochrome style to try and lighten the workload. I think it has some promise but the funny thing is that if I'm still doing toning it's not really all that different if it's one color or several. I'm also fairly pleased with how the initial color page of AU/NT/1E turned out, particularly with the sound effects evocative of old PC chunking. I want very much to finish this sequence but I may need to rebuild my confidence in something shorter before returning to it.
