New game development progress

A month has passed since my last post. During this time, I almost completed the first huge location. Work on this location is about 90% complete. There are still some details like trees, benches and so on. Well, it remains to make the entrance area to the park too. In general, work for another week, I think.

Pictures of the location - this is a residential area with streets, shops, cafes and a recreation area near the entrance to the park. The pictures that you see are not the final version, everything in the game will be much more beautiful and more details. I have added full versions of these pictures in the attachment.

Here in the game there will be many walks and dates with girls. Also some characters will live here.

And this is a general view of the entire location for understanding its large size.

It may seem to you that the work I have done cannot take so much time. But in fact, modeling 3D objects takes a very long time.

And optimizing the size and complexity of the location also takes up my time. And optimization is very important to me, since I cannot afford to work with very complex models due to hardware limitations. Therefore, optimization takes time too.

And for the same reason, I cannot use ready-made 3D models, they are usually in very high polygonal resolution. For example, a good looking finished 3D model of a bench might have 500,000 vertices, which is 5% of my limit for the entire location. And I need up to 100 such benches in this location. Therefore, I make almost all 3D models myself. And it takes a long time.

But there is good news, I can use a lot of 3D models from this location when creating other locations. And this will greatly, greatly accelerate their creation.

When I’m fully finished this area, I will show you some test renders and how it will look beautiful.

Maria - new look

What have I changed? I completely redesigned Maria's face. Made her a little younger than the first option. I also reduced the amount of makeup. She looks nicer now.
