Built in 2019, it's time to start planning anew.

for all this time its been AMD (3800x), but thanks to that market pressure Intel, once reviled for their insane pricing and stagnant architecture, have Done Things that may be worthy of attention.

What do you have?

What shall I do?

I sure am glad clip studio makes automatic backups when you get an over volt alert and your comp shuts itself off while you are working.

Also, the eclipse is clearly a portent of DOOOOM.

OH!

I got new monitor thursday. Its large and absurdly bright.

Oh Intel 100%. They are much stable on their products and last a lot longer. I always always go Intel.

I'm personally AMD because they change their sockets way less often, so upgrading is usually way less costly since I don't have to upgrade my motherboard as well.

AMD master race. I got one in my alienware and I can overclock the hell out if it stablely!

Goblinounours

I've been using an Intel CPU since just before COVID and it works great, so I'll vote for them.

Little Fluff

AMD can be more powerful in some ways, but they lack the sheer quality control of Intel.

ryzen 7>>>intel 14 intel 14 is a disaster

AMD has a 3D cache option that screams .. for games. Like +15% faster than the best Intel. For multi-tasking or single-threaded efforts, Intel is better.

I would say Intel because they are more reliable with a much faster CPU and high quality internal software. Great for multi-tasking and prioritizing your work. Price might be high, but usually doesn’t disappoint.

In my experience, a lot of the times my friends had weird bugs in games that didn't affect everyone else, it was a result of them being on AMD hardware. It is great stuff for the money, but the games we played apparently weren't tested much on AMD, so they've all moved to Intel and Nvidia just to avoid headaches.

From my experience, AMD is affordable and good at multi-tasking with its processing power, while Intel is better for focusing its processing power on a single software. So despite popular belief, I'd say "Is your primary focus work? AMD. Is your primary focus games? Intel." Intel hasn't failed me yet!

I've always gone with AMD, especially since their prices were comparably cheaper. My current build is with AMD Ryzen.

IMO, it's a bit arbitrary. The likelihood that you'll be using a cpu to the extent where the brands different strengths shine through with multi/single core strength is very slim. Intel does need a beefy power supply. I've seen people do it where they cheap out on the power and then have to throttle their system... get what you can afford, look at some benchmarks of stuff you'll actually play. Personally, I'm running with an i7 13700k and it's great

Just curious, do you have a USB Datacolor monitor calibrator? You probably could benefit from that.
