Caitriona portrait - The Andernya Project (Patreon)

...and the finished portrait is finally here!

I have recently bought two awesome brush packs for Procreate(Watercolor and Retro MaxPacks) and I decided to try them out with this portrait, since I wanted a more natural, rough and more textured style for this than the usuall, and I'm super happy with the result! :)

Altough this piece took me around 10 hours to finish(from zero to finish, sketch included), I still felt the painting process to be much quicker and more intuitive with these brushes, it was just a lot of time experimenting with them before I could pick my favs. In the end I used only 4-5 brushes from the insane 100+ new brushes, but maybe with the next pieces I can try even more of them properly :))

So I really hope you like how this turned out, but please let me know what you think! :) ♥

♥And now, a bit about Caitriona from the pen of our mysterious narrator:

"We know Caitriona as a mercenary and an assassin from the islands of Valrea. She is famous for her perfect hits and word has it she never missed a target - and of course, she was never caught.
As far as we know, one of her recent contractors was Adeleide, but she has been working for both kings and outlaws in the past, so it’s not enough to identify her true allegiances nor her real agenda.
The last time our informants spotted her she was meeting a royal agent of King Vaelron not long before his death, but It’s not the only deadly royal affair that ties to Caitriona’s appearance in the past few decades, so it’s easy to question how natural the late King’s cause of death really was."
