Hey everybody! Hope you are doing fine! ❤️
Today, I want to discuss something very important, but also very anxiety inducing to say the least... So as you can see, I finally received a proof copy from Amazon too (the hardcover version was by Ingramspark, printed in the UK), and damn, the print and paper quality of the interior is sooo different, I cant even believe myself that it was printed from the same file! The Amazon version is just so much better in all aspects, while the Ingram version is dull and the colors are just sooo light compared to what it should be, it makes me kinda furious. I really like the dust jacket and I would love to have one for the book(Amazon doesnt offer jackets yet unfortunately), but if the overall quality of the book is so bad it simply doesnt worth it :(
So I just uploaded the revised hardcover file and ordered a proof copy from Amazon too -- we will see how their hardcover looks, but if the quality stays the same, we may have to say goodbye to the dust jacket :( Maybe I can figure out something to have the dustjacket included in the Founders Boxes 🤔

What do you think?

I tried to take some good comparison photos, but I will probably make a video too once the Amazon hardcover arrives.

You could always sell dust jackets separately! That’s one of the reasons I went with Amazon over IS for my books as well.

To me the paper quality and especially the quality of the pictures within the book is more important of the dust jacket. Inside the book are plenty of your wonderful artworks, so it would be pretty easy for me to decide. I am curious how the Amazon hardcover will look!

To me the quality of the interior illustrations is more important than the dust jacket. Although that's a very cool gadget for a book. Maybe there's a way to print the dust jacket on its own to include it in the founders box 😊

Hi, perhaps I'm late into the game but I know there are many little etsy/insta girls who do amazing dust jackets for books! Some even paint by hand themselves! Just as an example is the many many covers made for acotar and Sara j Maas all books. I'm sure you can order a few for special occasions and such🤗

Hey, you are never too late! :) And thank you for the input, I will definitely look around for some options and see how it could fit with the budge :)
