Omg I had to re-subscribe to watch this! I absolutely loved this when it came out and it made me so sad it wasn’t on Netflix or something. It truly is a great K-Drama, even without knowing about BTS.

I totally agree. I’m a HUGE BU fan, especially during it all. But I still loved the Kdrama. It still took the same topics/emotions/issues as the BU did and the show is literally heartbreaking. I don’t think something has really given me the same gut-wrenching feel since I’ve watched this show.

I’m pretty sure HYPE sold it somewhere during production. Because HYPE didn’t promote it at all, so I’m guessing whoever they worked with was trying to make the money back after HYBE dipped.

Ugh !!! I really wish they released this on Netflix ,Amazon prime or even weverse. Haru resembles a younger jimin just by looking at him i just knew it. I remembered they named him haru which is also the same character name jimin has for his 7Fates: Chakho (webtoon) bts did. The guy who played hobi his manners really did really remind me of hobi. Yeah I would just go by their bts names if it's easier for you remember who is who . So far I'm invested i haven't really had time to really watch it all the way or finish it yet .

Wow I really like this drama. I haven't seen it before, cuz I wasn't too sure about the BU aspect and how it would translate into an actual drama, but I'm loving it. I had hear people being disappointed with the young actors and that they didn't look like our boys, but I kinda disagree with that. Like others here have pointed out Haru actually looks like Jimin and Hosu's manners are sooo Hobi💜💜 I'm hooked and I'm looking forward to seeing this show with you all🤗💜💜

This was such a pleasant surprise!! I love this series. Hosu and Haru (j-hope and Jimin) have my WHOLE HEART!! I think they did a great job casting. I think most of them (really, for me, except Jeha/JK), capture the boys so well. Dogeon SOUNDS like Joon. If you close your eyes, you'd swear it was him sometimes. Cien and Hwan's mannerisms are sooo Suga and Jin. Jooan perfectly captures Tae from the BU. Like he IS the Tae from I Need U and Run and BS&T Japanese Version. And Haru and Hosu?? That's Jimin and j-hope. The mannerisms, the expressions, the looks, the chemistry?? I'm just so impressed with them. I'm not a shipper but I whole-heartedly believe JiHope is canon in the BU for a lot of reasons and Haru and Hosu have sealed the deal on that, for me. (Plus, they're both BL actors so I'm just waiting on Season 2 to see that play out...haha). Anyway, SO SO SO glad you're reacting to this! Especially since you know the BU so well. It diverges a little in some places but overall, I was really happy with it. It is tragic as I'm sure you know based on the BU but it is really cute and heartwarming at times, too. :) Thanks so much! Can't wait for episode 2!

I feel like Jeha captures like 2013-right-at-debut Jungkook, which makes sense for the actor, who was only like 13(!). But adult JK, I kinda agree. I really like the character though!

Gurl... so happy you started the series! I personally think casting was spot on for the characters... even down to mannerisms/personality. I'm so happy that we have a Kdrama to watch together with one of the best storylines in kpop! Can't wait for ep.2! Will the reaction episodes be monthly, weekly or sporadic? Either way... glad you started! 💜

The actor is also really young compared to some of the others, so I imagine this kind of role was a ton of pressure for him. I think he did a great job considering he was up against the image we all had of baby JK. :)

Sorry for the long comment: I absolutely love the use of “Am I Wrong?” for this episode. The whole point of the song is to call out the abuse of power from government, relating so well to Hwan/Jin’s short little journey of discovering his privilege this episode. Even Cein/Suga saying, “We aren’t who you think we are,” just makes me think of Suga’s sarcastic lyric in “Am I Wrong” that was mocking a government official: “We are all dogs and pigs.” They did a great job bringing in BTS’ music into this show, this is just the beginning of that! Even though how they met is a bit different than the normal BU, I kinda like the set-up here, especially for a tv show. Having the other guys already know each other when Hwan comes into the picture really helps explain the stronger friendships between the different pairs. We didn’t see much of Cein/Suga and Jeha/Jungkook in this episode, but before you realized who was who, we did get a cute little scene near the beginning where Hwan is watching students in the courtyard and you can see Jeha following Cein around and Cein kinda pushing him away. Suga and Jungkook’s relationship in the BU will always be one of my favorites just because of that dynamic and shared struggle, and even seeing that little scene played out the first time was really cool as a longtime BU fan. I also really like Dogeon/RM and Jooan/V’s friendship in this show, showing how close they already are. And then Haru/Jimin and Hosu/Hobi’s as kinda this newer friendship. All are very heartwarming to watch. I think Haru and Hosu look a lot like Jimin and Hobi and got their mannerisms down well. Cein also stands out a lot as getting Suga’s mannerisms, which you will see more of in future episodes.

I'm watching for the first time alongside you, but I just have to take a moment to praise the casting. At first I was worried it would be a bit harder to figure out who's who but its actually so obvious that its impressive. I feel like all the actors have a few characteristics that just jump out that make them similar to their counterparts without having to look just like them. Cien's sleepy expression, Jeha's doe eyes and eating habit, Haru's cheeks and pout, Hosu's heart smile and laugh, Dogeon's serious demeanor and deeper voice, the way Hwan walks and talks so "dignified" and Jooan's straight up scrappy energy. I think so far its also an excellent retelling of the story with a more fleshed out background, doesn't feel as choppy as trying to understand the BU was at times which is obviously better for a drama audience.

I'm looking forward to watching this with you. To be honest, I tried to watch it by myself before but only made it to episode 4, because it IS such a hard watch - even know I know the BU really well (or maybe BECAUSE I know the BU really well)... it's not like I don't know what's coming, but at the same time seeing it dramatized hurts my heart. But, maybe if we're in this together, I'll have better luck. I'm really excited about whatever BTS has planned for their BU 10th anniversary project once they get back.

ahhh I'm so excited for your reactions to the rest of the drama!! As much as I loved that this was an adaptation of BTS story line, I admit this type of plot would have still been something I'd watch and enjoy regardless (I love anything with found family vibes and just seeing a group of people who are so different from one another come together in some way) so I enjoyed this drama so much! I do know parts of the BU but I don't know all of it so it was fun watching your reaction and seeing you know the info and piecing it together. Can't wait for more! 🥰🥰

I really love this drama!! It is a tough watch but the acting is so good! I wish they had made it available on Netflix. I don't know if anyone mentioned that their names were taken from the BTS webtoon. Yoongi, Hobi and Jimin's characters really captured their essence, I think. It took me a little longer to warm up to the other actors.

My high school was really strict with uniforms as well. It didn’t matter if you weren’t on school grounds, you had to wear the uniform properly. I remember going to school and hearing the principal call students’ names over the intercom because someone saw them at the bus stop without their tie.

Those have to be the worse teachers ever! So far all the adults suck except the lady that came for J-hopes character. Also, I'm glad you'll be referring to them by their actual name because I am not going to remember the show names because I don't know the story. I'm a little lost but I'm sure it will start to make sense as the show goes on.

I have not watched Bon Voyage 4 yet... I took a side turn and did Are You Sure and now I am watching Begin/Youth (the BTS BU drama series). After that I will probably do BV4. 💜

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this episode. I recognized some of the supporting actors from other Kdramas I have watched. I wanted to watch this for a long time but hadn't done the research to find where it was. I have so many streaming channels already so I did not need to pay for more. I cant' wait to see more!
