I loved your initial reaction to the OP dance shimmy. Amethyst is her purple eyes. I think he said that in the 1st episode. My guess is that it seems like he's saying that his wife is doomed to die when she turns 13, so she has to be less than 14. MC Jill is 10, so she has 3 years left. That's why he doesn't want to fall in love with her before she dies. I don't think they made it to the imperial capital and his real palace yet, they're in the Marquis' territory, where he had them locked up claiming that he wasn't sure if was really the Emperor. Those weren't his guards. This whole episode seemed really rushed. I feel the need to check the source material for what is missing before I can really understand it. 7th time loop is awesome, btw.
