Humm... Ok, so here is my hypothesis... It is the guild master, but the motives that the anime gives us are (purposefully) a distraction/bait, or at least only a part of said motives are true. I think that rather than resurrect his daughter, what he really wants is for someone to kill her/put her to rest because she somehow got turned into a dark god/relic. A plot like that is a somewhat common trope, and there are a few hints in this episode and the last one that suggests that is not as simple as he wanting his daughter back or that he misses her. I guess we'll see how well my hypothesis holds over the next couple of episodes.
