“Wholesome but troll” is a great description lmao. I would say your observation about the wholesome vs troll ratio compared to S1 is probably on the money but just a byproduct of how the manga got split up between the two. But yeah, turning a character being tsundere into like “this is the pain she fights through EVERY! DAY! to show her affection” is so funny but also kind of insanely sweet. Putting all the characters in completely accurate Dragon Ball outfits is CRAZY. The big speech at the end initially being skipped over kind of threw everyone for a loop because it’s maybe THE most iconic 100GF moment in the manga (it’s a big double page spread of just words) and then they of course just outright address it along with the fact that originally Mimimi and Meme hadn’t joined yet. Word on the street is that the 1x speed version of the monologue is a blu-ray bonus that’s 6 minutes long or something nuts. How perfect. This must have been such a fun show to work on. I’m really uncertain about the possibility of a S3 or beyond, especially in such a faithful way that these two seasons have been. They seemed to go into it with the plan of introducing a new girl every 2 episodes or so which works really well but as the manga goes on, there’s a lot more space in between where they focus on the already existing girls (and lots of chapters with only one or two of them) and I think you run into a problem where if you cut too many of those then you sort of break the whole concept of ‘no girl gets left behind.’ Even in this season, we skipped over Kusuri, Kurumi and Mei focused chapters to fit all the girls in and while I think those chapters in particular are pretty fine to miss, I’m sure it’ll eventually add up to certain girls feeling way less developed. I guess there’s nothing inherently wrong with choosing to adapt it that way if they do go forward, it’d just be a very different feel. And I’m not complaining, btw! I think they did such an amazing job, I just think it’s the reality of such an insane concept. But who knows! I’m wrong all the time and hope that I am anyway!

The VA of Rentaro just said that in a semi-fast pace (the speed of how he started) and then speed it up. (Apparently, the non-sped up version of the speech will be in the blu-ray) Also to add into that, it was actually longer than the original essay in the manga since they added Mimimi and Meme to the anime version of it
