Hey guys, I'm hoping that my schedule will be a bit more free for me to pick up another series to watch!

Thus fire away with any recommendations you guys have!

O Maidens in Your Savage Season is a pretty great anime

ryuryu

Freaking loved O Maidens in your savage season!! So hoping for a season two!

"Kill La Kill" is a good one. Its has action, comedy, and is ecchi 😃👍

Corrupt Zain

How about Ascendance of the bookworm season 2 is airing now

Shane Trammell

I'll put up my favorite isekai, Gate; Thus The JSDF Fought There. It's fun, has an unusual take on the genre and is pretty shippy.T

Thunderbolt

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is my recommendation.

ryuryu

Kill La Kill is legendary! I have watched but it would be worth revisiting.

ryuryu

Been waiting for season two in forever! Which I think it actually got a confirmation for so might be worth rewatching season 1

ryuryu

I thought with how popular it is it would get a third season (still hoping lol). Gate definitely started my love for isekai.

ryuryu

Oh yea I saw season 2 and have been wanting to binge watch the series!

Fake Name

Hidamari Sketch, it's very relaxing but might not give that much to react to. Sayonara Setsubo Sensei, great watch, but way to much text on screen sometimes. Outbreak Company, weeb isekai parody. Steins;Gate Clannad DeathNote Made in Abyss Kaiba, really trippy show, but GOOD. the whole Aria series is so relaxing Starship Operators, one of the best SciFi shows ever IMO

Sam Wiseman

Miss Kobayashi dragon maid or demi-chan wa katari tai (interview with monster girls) would be my next recommendations. Yes I have a monster fetish don't @ me

I agree with Made in Abyss (Amazing visuals, music, and story) Some others would be: - Erased (Time travel mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat after each episode and give you the feels especially if you care about kids and family) - Ascendance of a Bookworm (Isekai where the female main character becomes a somewhat normal peasant girl. A very different take on an Isekai. Season 2 started this season, Season 1 was in Fall 2019 so it is a recent anime)

Dwarfie

A couple I would recommend would be; shouwa genroku rakugo shinjuu, psycho pass, ping pong the animation, haikyuu, Banana fish, dororo and run with the wind.

Sam Fraser (Emanku)

Here are my suggestions for anime to react to: Gakkou Gurashi (aka School-Live!) - This is one that is best when you dive into it without looking up anything about it. Code Geass - With a ton of crazy twists, likeable characters, and a little bit of everything anime thrown in for good measure, Code Geass can be a great experience. It's been just barely holding Kill La Kill back from my 'favourite anime' spot for years now. REC - A really short but sweet little show. Seriously, only 9 episodes that are 13 minutes each. The manga for it actually has more drama and tension but I prefer the lighthearted tone they went with for the anime. Hikaru no Go - A sports-style anime about the board game Go. This show has some of the best gradual character progression that I've seen. In the later episodes, when it flashes back to early scenes, it's only then that you realise how much the characters have grown. Also, I learned how to play Go and briefly joined a Go club because of this show. Princess Tutu - A ballet-inspired magical girl anime that... um.... now that I actually am trying to explain what's so great about it, I'm kind of at a loss. It's flawed but really, really good. The quirky style of the director is one of the parts that shines. It's the same director as Ojamajo Doremi and the first season of Sailor Moon. If there was one anime that I could pick to see a high-quality remake of, it would be Princess Tutu. Kemono no Souja Erin - Speaking of flawed but charming anime, oh boy, this one's up there. Sometimes the animation is a bit cheap or wonky. Sometimes the pacing is bad. But Erin is just so endearing and the worldbuilding is fascinating. Azumanga Daioh - I don't know how well known this anime actually is nowadays; I don't hear it talked about much anymore. This is an anime I know many consider a comedy classic. It makes the best use of pauses for comedic effect I've ever seen. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha - Lastly, here's the anime that now springs to mind for me when I think of 'magical girls'. I actually almost dropped it after episode 3 but the awesome opening and two moments from episode one that had a very different animation style kept me watching - and after episode 4 I was in for the long haul. I also really enjoyed the sequel series Nanoha A's but I wouldn't really recommend the one after that, Nanoha Strikers, or the one after that, Nanoha Vivid. I went with a few more obscure choices for a lot of my recommendations mostly because they're ones that I've never seen a reaction to. Enjoying the more mainstream, popular shows with others is great but sometimes I look back at the nostalgic ones and think, "Wouldn't it be great to share that with someone, too?" On that note, do you have any obscure, nostalgic anime, shows, or movies that you love?

Sam Fraser (Emanku)

After watching Kaiba twice I still can't really say that I understand it. Like, at all. Rated it an 8/10 on MAL, though.

Hakurei Oni

If you don't mind something more serious I suggest Fate Zero, great introduction into the Fate Stay Night franchise. Otherwise, Pani Poni Dash is an oldie but a goodie if you want slapstick comedy

ryuryu

I've seen most of the Fate series but will put Pani Poni Dash on the list.

ryuryu

Dayum thanks for taking the time to write all that out I'm liking the different range of animes you've recommend! A nostalgic anime for me has to be ouran high school host club I've watched it at least 4 times and would still easily binge watch it now. Along with the Incredibles it's just a classic childhood movie that I've even recently rewatched.

ryuryu

Those are all such good animes I've watched all of them lol xD So hyped for the next season of Haikyuu!

ryuryu

Made in Abyss one of my fav animes and Erased is just brilliant! Will put Bookworm on the list.

ryuryu

Haha both a fantastic shows I don't remember demi-chan well so will be worth rewatching!

Houseki no kuni?

bluehairthief

Have you seen Sarazanmai? It's by Ikuhara, so a very strange anime, but also a mostly heartwarming one about human connections (with some tragedy also mixed in)

ryuryu

Sarazanmai was insane at first I was just so lost in what's going on but after all the bizarreness it is indeed a very beautiful anime.

ryuryu

Stunning anime still waiting for season two! Will be worth the rewatch since it's been so long.
