I think really what the problem, or what she's actually actively been thinking about, has been for her wasn't necessarily that he has a girlfriend, she just started thinking about why she's so rattled about it if it is true. Like why would she care if that random guy has girlfriend right? That's mostly been what she's been thinking about and also probably the reason she wouldn't just straight up ask because... why does she even care in the first place? (Obviously for us because she's taken a liking to him, but she hasn't quite realised that yet)
