The cafe owner is a tapir. He's voiced by Grandpa from Iruma-kun, the same guy who does Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series.

Omg no wonder the voice gave off a familiar vibe didn't know it was Grandpa from Iruma nice!

I binged this reaction last weekend but hadn't had the time to make a proper comment, but I wanted to share a few fun facts. Transformation sequences tend to not work too well in mangas when compared to anime, this is especially true for mangas in the 4-koma style, so the manga for this show doesn't have any transformation sequences, and one of the running jokes is that they happen so fast that you can't really see them anyways. When the anime was getting close to airing; the manga author started adding extra notes in the manga panels saying how excited she was, and recommending everyone to check out the anime to see the transformation sequences that they had done for the anime. Also, about the whachamacallit rod/stick/staff. While I think that the translated name is fine, I prefer the one used in the fan translation of the manga which is the "whatever staff" (or stick sometimes). I think it fits better as it combines the joke along with its functionality. It’s the whatever staff because of whatever its actual name is, and because it can transform into whatever the user desires.

Yea "whatever staff" sounds a lot better and works better as well than dad's rod xD
