Shizuka is heeeeere! And she’s just as precious as could be. They seriously knocked it out of the park with this episode. I love that you really put emphasis on Rentarou choosing to accommodate Shizuka rather than try and “fix” her. It really is a huge show of the compassion he is capable of. You know, some of the quirks these girls have are pretty out there and clearly born from a place of comedy, but the series can be *very* reverential when it needs to be. Shizuka speaking like a medieval fantasy character is funny and cute, but it’s not at her expense. Honestly, I even love the way the mom is portrayed. It’s total scumbag behavior and she can rot for all I care, but it feels very human. I can very much picture a parent at their wits’ end panicking because their special needs child is not integrating into society “the right way.” It’s also cool that we’re three episodes in (three girls in, more like) and Rentarou has fully processed how he feels about the whole ‘they’ll die if he doesn’t date them’ thing. It’s smart to get that out of the way early because leaving that unaddressed could make the whole thing go a bit sour. It’s sort of similar to why they wouldn’t just have Rentarou tell the girls they HAVE to be with him, because then it just turns into a hostage situation and that’s a bit icky and not so awesome lol. I was really curious how they were going to handle the text-to-speech. In my head it’s always been a male robotic voice like Microsoft Sam but making it so that Rentarou is essentially giving her a voice is just way too sweet. Plus it lets the voice actress actually participate in the show. IT WAS JUST VERY GOOD I think.

Yeah - he's doomed LOL! So 3 episodes in and 3 girlfriends. Does that mean there's 100 episodes?!
