Lying has such strong negative connotations because deception is an amazingly effective tool, too effective and everyone knows that so society (mostly) collectively devalues the words of liars. People inherently don't like being manipulated, it also forces you to think things over to confirm if you are being lied to. Crying out your opponents name as if you were pleading for help suddenly could easily cause hesitation in all but the most hardened fighters. A split second is all the difference needed to decide a fight, especially with swords, guns or magic so generally such tactics are seen as fighting dirty
