I like how Delta is the one that Cid can talk the closest to normal with. I believe (I’m an anime-only) that the “code” Eta deciphered was the speech Cid was preparing to give to the girls, expecting them to be unable to translate the Japanese he wrote it in. Which is why he didn’t expect the gold to be in Shadow Garden’s control.

yeah so the main crux of this episode is Japanese wordplay that English speaking audiences would struggle to understand. In Japanese, yuki = snow. Getan is talking about his treasure and says 'Yuki' so Cid believes Getan means that he buried his treasure under the snow. However, Getan was dying at the time so his sentence got cut off. He really meant to say that 'Yukime' (the fox lady) was his treasure and that he was entrusting her to Joh Smith. Getan never buried anything under the snow (yuki). It was a misunderstanding because Getan was dying and could not finish the word 'Yukime'. Delta finding something there was purely coincidence, just like everything else in this show lmao
