Ah yes good old irregular at magic high school also known as "Onii-Sama is amazing and I will cut anyone that says otherwise" Time to play the "everytime Miyuki swoons over her brother" drinking game! 🤣

I've watched this a few times over the years, it's one of those animes that I actually enjoy watching again and again :)

This turned out way too long, just some information on things that weren't explicitly explained/might still cause confusion, if you are interested, if not just ignore it. Numbers The Numbers are basically modern-day magic nobility they are split up in the 10 Master Clans, like the Juumonji (Ju = 10), Saegusa (Sae/Nana=7), or the Yotsuba (Yotsu = 4) Then there are 18 Assistant Houses, branch families of the 10 Master Clans also bearing the numbers 1-10 in their name. They are direct descendants from 10 Laboritories that existed in Japan when Magicians were first developed as weapons. And then there are the 100 Families, other big and important magician Families, one of them being the Chiba Clan (Chi = 1000), as a famous Sword Style and having deep ties with the police and other armed force since about half of the Magicians serving as policemen or infantry in the military were directly trained under the Chiba Family's system. Bloom/Weed Just to make it clear technically the only official “discrimination” between 1st and 2nd course students is that besides the president all Student Council members have to be 1st course and the availability of teachers. 1st course students are properly taught in person by teachers while 2nd course students are mostly taught remotely without a teacher being there in person but they get access to all the same materials and facilities as the 1st course students. This isn’t to be mean but simply a matter of there not being enough teachers to go around. Magicians are a highly thought of commodity and always in short supply so people that are skilled magicians and decide to become teachers are even rarer. First High only has enough teachers to effectively teach 100 students per years but they enrol 200 per year, the top 100 become 1st course the bottom 100 2nd course students. If a 1st course student drops out for whatever reason (statistically it’s rare for all students 100 students to make it through all 3 years) the 2nd course students can take their spots. That’s why they are also called reserves. Glasses Glasses are basically only a fashion accessory in this series, most issues with eyesight have been cured by the time of the series (well besides physical injuries of the eyes). One of the few exceptions to that is the condition known as “Over-sensitivity to Spirit Particle Emission”, where the person is extremely sensitive to Pushion light, the glasses that people like Mizuki wear actually cut down on on Pushion light protecting them from overstimulation. There are two “particles” essential to magic, the Psion, literally "Thought Particles", which are thought to be manifestations of intention and thought and what modern magicians use to rewrite reality. You can think of Psion count as basically the mana capacity of someone. Magicians can perceive them in the same way they perceive light and sound. Then there are Pushions, manifestations of the emotions that are more mysterious and are more aligned with ancient magic, most magicians can only “feel” them, they can’t actually see them but people like Mizuki can see them. The downside is that this hypersensitivity leads to a volatile mental state as they are easily influenced by the Pushion light, and an overstimulation can lead the breakdown of his or her mental stability.
