Ernst has that politician vibe which is why he is kinda sus. I believe him tho. As for Federica, she can only see the past and the present. The present being like she can see what is happening at another place at the same time. It broke my heart when Federica wanted Shin to not go because she didn’t want to lose someone else who is dear to her. As for that Shin’s crazy scene, he was already devastated from losing Eugene whom he have considered as a friend and then he saw that letter which would make anyone lose their mind. That scene with the tags falling - I believe Shin is seeing them again after hearing that the Republic has fallen which means Lena might have also died. He has lost yet another person whom he cared. So I guess that’s why he is accepting the situation of going into that suicide mission. Thanks for the reaction! I hope we get to see the rest soon❤️

Also Eugene dying - at this point no one is safe in this anime😅

This one is going to be a bit long, so my apologies ahead of time. First, there is something I want to explain, and that is how our main cast survived after the events of episode 11. In my opinion this is one of very very few things that I think the anime did wrong when compared to the light novel as I think the anime left it a bit too abstract while the light novel straight up explains it. The short version is that Rei helped them. The longer version is that some legion units can transfer their consciousness to another unit, in this case, before Rei was fully destroyed during his battle with Shin, he transferred himself to a backup Dinosauria and was able to save Shin and his friends at the end of episode 11, he then took them as close as he could to the Federacy Of Giad where they were rescued and he was destroyed. The entire sequence in the second half of episode 12 where Rei carries Shin is meant to represent that event, and after the first meeting with Ernst the officers and Ernst briefly talk and show a Dinosauria that was with Shin and the others. By the way, for anyone who hasn't noticed, we are using TeaSubs/Vida_Winter_Subs. They are based off of SubsPlease’s subs, but several changes were made. One of the bigger ones is the mention of the Vargus units which doesn’t get explained in the anime, so here is the explanation - "Technically Grethe calls them 外人部隊 "gaijin butai", which is "foreign legion/troops/units". But it sounds confusing, because there is no further explanation in the show, Grethe says that line casually, as if we’re supposed to know what she means. Later the scene reveals the existence of the United Kingdom of Roa Gracia and the Alliance of Wald. So the usage of “foreign units” makes it look as if Giad pays Roa Gracia or the Alliance of Wald to fight for them, which is not what actually happens. In reality, the Nordlicht squadron is bigger than just our 86 guys. It was made up of soldiers from the old combat territories of Vargus and wasn’t officially in the army’s register. When the Federacy was still the Empire, the Vargus were warrior-class slaves stationed in combat territories on the cusp of the Empire's borders as defense in case of emergency. Generations of life on the battlefield had made them rough and hardened, and the current regime employed them as mercenaries. As you can probably guess from this description, they were filled with joy and relief at the sight of reliable 86 comrades." ^Once the reaction to this series is 100% done I will post a link to the document with all the changes that were made to the subs. The only reason I don't post it now is because they contain spoilers. ### Now that all of that is out of the way I do have some other points that I would like to clarify on, and a few extra details to add. First is that while Frederica is the last empress of Giad, she is not the one who made the legion nor the one gave the order for them to attack, she is a descendant of the royal line and was likely a toddler when it all started happening, but to some degree she feels responsible anyways. One of the reasons why Eugene’s death affected Shin so much is that Eugene has values that Shin cares and resonates with. Eugene is a big brother which reminds him of Rei, and he is a hard-working Alba which reminds him of Lena. Also, with Lena’s new attire (black uniform plus red streak of hair) she now wears all 5 colors of the Republic's flag which represent the original ideals of the Republic. And yes! Lena was able to find a handful of people that are similar to her and support her goals. These 7 episodes still have a massive amount of little details that I would love to go over, but this is long enough as it is, so I'm just going to mention what I think is my favorite one - In episode 16, at the end of the fight against the legion, when Frederica goes over to Shin and he gets off his Juggernaut, we are briefly shown that his left breast pocket was ripped, almost as if a piece of shrapnel was going toward his heart but was deflected or stopped by Rei's Juggernaut piece which Shin keeps there, it’s kind of as if Rei was still protecting Shin. Lastly, this time around the only new schematic I think is worth sharing is the one for the XM2 Reginleif/new Juggernauts. I posted both the old one and the new one in this link in case anyone is interested in reading the difference, but in short, they got a pretty significant upgrade - https://imgur.com/a/KtvH4oQ EDIT - I forgot to add that at this point in time I believe that they are all between 16 and 17 years old. Calling them children may be a bit much by anime standards, but they are definitely very young to be sending them out to a war.
