Let's fuckin' goooooooo! Wow, that was a whirlwind and a half. This anime really does seem to be well aware of its own genre, I feel like we often get teased with the thought of drama only for the characters to turn around and shut it down. Like the two confession fake outs in the beginning had us all shouting NO! but how realistic and sweet is it for Itsuomi to be so moved by the fact that he saw her again before his trip that he just absolutely had to make his feelings known. I mean, halfway through the season and our main couple is together... Crazy! But I guess that means we all have to direct our shipping powers to Kyoya and Rin now! Also so like...I'll be honest, I haven't had the kindest opinion of Oushi but now I don't know WHAT to feel. In the nicest way possible, his situation is a lot more...pitiful than I originally thought. Yuki definitely referred to him as a childhood friend but I'm starting to wonder if that was just easier to say than "some guy I've been vaguely aware of since I was younger." He didn't even have her number? He didn't even ask HER FOR IT? That already makes the fact that almost every interaction they've had together being her literally trying to get away from him feel so much worse lol. My man. My dude. With the implication that he learned (or at least kept up with) sign language because of his crush for her and the realization that they're basically just acquaintances, he's really got some big "pathetic dead Yamcha in a crater" energy lmfao.
