Oh man, what timing. I picked up my phone to put something on to listen to while I cook dinner and this popped up in that moment.

Troy Lowrance

OOOOOOOO! I'm so excited!! An hour and 13 minutes??? Wooooop! Here. We. GO

Andrew Hoschar

As soon as my phone went off, I squealed. Been on the edge of my seat for two weeks.

Amanda Mitchell

As I type this, I can't stop smiling! You guys are such a joy and inspiration! As a West Virginia native and transplant to Raleigh, these stories speak to El Rio Abajo Rio in my soul. I am writing books about a town I invented in WV, not horror but Southern Gothic/Magical Realism. I LOVED hearing your Tale of Mr. Poe. I CAN'T WAIT to see you guys in DURHAM very soon! :)

Jessica Ross

Well would you look at that. And I have 1.25 hrs left of work. Perfect.

J. F.

Saving this for the weekend. Thanks so much for bringing your stories into the world.

Scott Ash

We both shrieked in delight when we got the notification.

Roxy Garces

Absolutely perfect! Loved it so much 💕

Meaghan

I'd been waiting all day for this episode, so I had to listen immediately after it popped up. That ending was incredible and I love how Granny Underwood's testimony ended. I can't decide which one between her and Glory Ann Boggs reminds me more of my own (great)Granny

Courtenay

Perfection! As always! ❤️

Brent Liner

How did y’all come up with that?! This is great, and will make any procrastinator both pleased and satisfied.

Jason and Jayme

We can’t wait for the drive to and from work tomorrow!!

Granny M

OMG! HOW AWESOME! Not only the ending, but all the other info. Can't wait!

Jessica Ross

Oh that was so good. And the tie back to way near the beginning was perfect.

Jennifer Oney-Hooven

Random thoughts that went through my brain as I listened to this episode. "It'd be hilarious if 'Dougie Walker' just randomly started hexing people. But I suppose that's a Cam thing and not a DW Walker thing." "Uh, duh, dummy." (Sung) "It's you. Hi, you're the problem it's you." "'Good morning, Jack.' 'Good morning, Doc.' 'Do you like my hat, Jack?' 'I do like your hat, Doc. I like your party hat.'" Or I might have had more specific thoughts that I can't exactly express because they could be spoilers and I'm determined not to spoil anything. This has been a great season and this was a great supervised episode.

Violet Farraday

PERFECTION!!! Thank you for another amazing season!! Can't wait to see y'all in Richmond, family <3

Anthony Castaldo

I am sad that this season is over.. please don't hide Mr fields.

PurpleOwl

WOOOOO! This was great! 🥰💜

Barbara Lummus

The perfect ending to an amazing season. I hope we will hear more of the young friends we've met along the way eventually, but for now it's on to the pleasures of Summer. Safe travels and good times until we gather together at Halloween, if not sooner!

Emilia27

Now to listen to the season again!

Luke Browning

Absolutely incredible ending to season 4

Kelsey Brown

I don’t ever comment on anything. But wow. This was amazing. I got Patreon last year just for Old Gods of Appalachia and it has been worth every penny. I wish I lived closer to see you all live. I will be (not so) patiently waiting for next season

Helen Miyaki

This was soooo good. I had no idea I needed supernatural courtroom drama in my life, and this was the perfect ending for it. Love

Suzy Milktoast

B R A V O ! :::wild applause::: See all y'all in Dallas! ❤️

Alexis Kennedy

Thank you so much for another brilliant season!

Amelia Fazackerley

So good!!!! Is anyone else feeling like Dougie and Jack have some flirty vibes? 😂😂😂

Darrin Daw

How many of y'all around here have Mr . J. T. Fields as your favorite character?

Tiffany

Awesome !!! As always

David Wise

I definitely didn't see that ending. Well done you guys! Such a great season.

Cypher Onyx

Well now I didn't see that coming. In the words of Jed Clampett. Welll Doggies! Wasn't that something.

Caolifhionne

I instantly relax when I hear those opening crickets.

Ms.Goldie

So many emotions tied up in such a short time! Excellent job on the wrap-up 💚 And in the words of the super talented Cam: Go Dawgs!

Crystal White

I like to try and predict how something is gonna come to an end. I'm aways looking for whodunnit. I thought I had it figured out. I thought I knew how this was gonna end. I was wrong. And I thank you for that. Predictability makes for boring stories and books. This was FAR from predictable. :)

Pam Sanford

I start over from the very beginning and re-listen to the whole thing from the beginning. Always something new to discover!

Summershan

Can I please take a moment to say we need to appreciate the TALENT AND BRILLIANCE OF MR. STEVE SHELL!!!!! All the narration and all the different voices he does always blows me away. SO good Sir, you do this so well, and I thank you for it. Your work brings these amazing stories to life!

Darrin Daw

I couldn't agree more. Sometimes Goldie Underwood's voice reminds me of my little grandmother Nelly. She's been gone almost 30 years I remember her. This podcast has become a part of my journey.

Marcia McCord

Can’t wait to see y’all in Durham! I’m constantly impressed with the quality of storyline, character development and execution. You are a delight to this old granny lady.

Philip Brown

This episode had more delicious twists than a fresh order of garlic knots! Had to come back for seconds haha! Congratulations on another incredible season! ❤️

WyamondWolf

Wow the season 4 finale was just wow. The lore reveal and that climax. You guys never disappoint🥰 can't wait for season5

Cassandra Stepro

I marval at the talent and creativity of Steve and Cam. To build such a story world and have so many just sitting on the edge of our seats. I love you all take care family.

Summershan

Also— SO EXCITED for Patreon exclusive stories this summer, as well as the show. I’ll be at Chicago’s show with a few others in the family!

Aine Hawthorn

Always did have a soft spot for the tricksters, and my grandaddy used to tell us Jack tales, so yes of course he's my favorite.

Julie Lea Jones

WOW!!!!! I have NEVER applauded, cackled, and screamed with delight while listening to an episode!!! All within a span of 5 seconds! Security looked a little concerned…. I thought I was safe in my car. 😳🤭 Thank you so much Cam and Steve! I know it’s “just a story” but it feels so real to me. Thank you!

cpip

What a delight. Thank y'all very much for this.

Tongsan

Hoo weee that was a humdinger!

Heather Hubers

I want to be friends with skin't tom, Jack, and Lavinia.... does that make me a sociopath? 😅👻🖤

Denise Chorne

I'll see you in Milwaukee! Looking so forward to it!

Jovon

Great episode. Y'all always bring it hard for the season finales (even more than you always do). Quick question about season 4, though: in the prologue, when you talk about the things going back to Jack, you mention "a young man returning home from war, hoping to find somewhere quiet where he can forget the things that he has seen...and done." It didn't seem like there was anything about that; did I just miss something, or did that one not make it in/get cut from running out of time or something?

vincent

Y’all sure can land a damn ending, can’t you? Just stellar stuff. Congratulations. 🖤

Derek Heckman

What Marigold says to Hiram Cook though 👀🚪

Robert Weiss

Idk bout y’all, but I think Mr. Fields forgot something (or rather someone) in the jail…. 👀

Oak

Shoot! Now I gotta go back and listen again! I was like “oh boy… Jack is already souring some other relationships 😬”

Oak

It would certainly make for one hell of a night on the town hanging with those folk 😂

Oak

LOVE Granny Underwood! Her voice always makes me wish we could get a “Granny reads”

Old Gods of Appalachia

Folks, as we've explained in various places before, our cast members are not full time employees. We cannot command their participation at a whim, or every time someone makes a request (another reason we don't take requests), nor can we afford to do so.

Darrin Daw

It was just wishful thinking, nothing serious at all. It wasn't a request.

Astra Kim

I continue to love The Underwoods, especially Marigold. But also, BAHAHAHAHA good ol' Jack. Gotta love that ol' bastard. GREAT ending to a great season.

Oak

Completely understand! Definitely not a request, just love when Granny Underwood makes an appearance - apologies if it sounded demanding. Nothing but respect for the show, its creators, its cast, and community. ❤️

Darrin Daw

I feel the exact same way. My personal opinion is that I don't even have the right to ask for anything special from this absolutely fantastic group of people. It's been nice chatting with you Robert, from now on I'm going to treat Patreon like Utube and keep my comments to myself. My wife would probably like that too. 🤣

Gail Mickley

You guys sure know how to keep your audience riveted! Great job! Safe travels and full halls in your tour.

Bill Henker

While there wasn't anyone for Jack to go back for, how did he find out? It is, of course, entirely possible that I missed that part.

Jessica T Cohen

Is Miss Harlow still being held at the Rock?

Aniel Galloway

I absolutely love Mr.J T Fields!! Great ending. Fantastic job!

Mary Katherine Long

I just listened to this episode for the probably 10th time. That line "Indeed. Most entertaining" is so hilarious and perfectly voiced! I hold my breath for it every time.

Jennifer Battaglia

Thank all the good AND pestilent gods! Marigold said what I've been SCREAMING all season!

Robert Massey

I am unable to get to the beginning of season 4. I mistakenly listened to the last episode first. Cannot scroll past episode 50. Tried settings oldest to most recent. Forlorn and bereft, please help

Old Gods of Appalachia

I’m afraid you’ll need to reach out to Patreon user support. This is a third party website. We’re not able to provide tech support.

Kass

"It's not FUNNY!" ....oh dear Jack

Amy

I know many have expressed diverse views about the flashback format of this season, but I, for one, loved it! What a great way to layer stories into the overall narrative. Thanks so much for this gem of a season and can't wait until the next! Till then, family....

Jennifer Stephenson

I had the same problem. The only way I could get through the season in order was to: go to the main menu, scroll down until the collections tab appears, tap session 4, then scroll all the way down to find the next episode.
