Hey Family, So Landon Blood (that's his real name) is a buddy of mine  that I know from playing in the Society for Creative Anachronism. We both work on studying, performing and teaching period medieval music. He really liked the idea of the show a year or more back and I asked him to write me a theme song.  I wanted an earworm like The Black Tapes awful opening song, but you know, actually good.  Landon riffed this off, improv-ing the lyrics as he went.  I only used the first lines of the song because I felt Landon's references to "dark waters" reflected where he lives now (Louisiana) more than the mountains, but on reflection, we're seeing a special relationship to The Things and water aren't we?  Lord knows there are enough rivers he could be talking about.  But y'all asked, so y'all receive

I absolutely love this song and it was worth becoming a patron just to hear the full version 😁

Thank you, thank you! There's something about the song that conjures "The Long Black Veil" and wraps it in coal dust, swamp, and prickly vines. It is an earworm, and I so appreciate you sharing it with the family!

This has to be my favorite version of the song. It feels like the voice is coming through a radio tuned to a station from the other side!
