Now that Patreon has rolled out "Collections" (which makes it much easier for us to organize seasons, Patreon storylines, and other bonus content), we're considering breaking our "Welcome & FAQ" post into multiple posts that we would then place under an "FAQ" collection.

Individual posts would be by topic. For example, "Private RSS feed questions" and "Discord questions."

Of course, when we add these new posts, you'll receive email notifications from Patreon. So we're weighing the long term benefit against the temporary annoyance factor.

What do you folks think of the idea?

ETA: Ok at this point we think it's safe to call it. We're gonna roll with it. They will all be scheduled to go live at once, so deleting email notifications en masse is easier for folks. Thank you for your input!

I think it is a great idea. Everything being well organized and more easily searchable is well worth any temporary inconvenience.

Amanda Plageman

TBH, I never read the FAQ, so I have no opinion. Also, while too many Patreon emails are annoying, but if it was a one-time thing during the reorganization, I'll put up with it.

Pamela Wolff

I have read the FAQ and did not find it too long. I also don't mind getting emails. So I am content with either choice you decide to make.

Suzy Milktoast

I didn't find the FAQ lengthy or challenging to navigate, but subdividing might be easier for new OGoA Fans that are also new to Patreon. My 2c.

Michelle Scism

I'm new here, so I don't have much of an opinion. I think you should do what makes your administration easier. The emails won't be too much of a bother.

SuperByakhee

Better organisation is better. A few extra emails while you do it is no big deal.

Ada Terrill

Yes! More organized feeds will be so helpful. I think there will just have to be a bit of a period of grace from patrons as all our individual feeds update and and reorganize going forward. But it will make life better for future patrons, and we should always want better for those come behind! I’m glad so many of my feeds are doing things like this tbh. Thanks for all the work y’all put in, it means a lot 💕

Celia L Ruckel

More organized feeds would be good. I dont think a few extra emails are going to drive anyone away. I know I am always excited to see email from you. 😉 It's not like it will continue forever. Those who don't want to read them can just delete them.

Ayl

temporary annoyance for permanent nicer organization is totally worth it.

Tongsan

I don't look at the FAQs and so have no strong opinion. what really matters to me are the episodes!

Kira Pelowitz

If it's possible, doing them all at once should at least batch all of the emails, making it easier to clean out from and end-user perspective

Ed

Yes, yes, yes...100% for better organization

Jessica Short-Long

I'm pretty sure I have ADHD and don't open like 90% of my personal emails anyway. A few more aren't going to hurt if it means accessing content more easily

Jennifer Oney-Hooven

I think it's a great idea. That way my ADHD self can go back and reference every time I forget.

Maddie Crawford

I agree that it’s more user friendly to have specific types of questions in their own space rather than trying to slog through huge walls of text to find an answer. Yes multiple emails can be annoying but if anything it’s just showing how much you guys are doing to make navigating content easier for your audience.

Taylor

Abso******* lutely lol. We can always change our email preferences but even trying to go back and re-listen to season 2 is a pain. Filtering through bonus content and side stories (all of which I love) but sometimes I just want to binge the main storyline

Amy Hale

OTHER - I don’t think the single post is too long/ confusing to navigate- but I see the benefits and don’t mind getting extra emails whilst y’all get things set up

Ellen J Brown

Pardon me if I am repeating something postedready. I would like a topics file for each story line: FAQ, Character lists, dates, and important notices on Patreon or the website. I have listened to the episodes in order many times, and have also hunted out the story episodes in chronological order. Frankly, in the end, however you present information is perfect. You rock my world!

Joseph Riker

I don’t have a strong feeling one way or another. The email dump would be slightly annoying but temporary. I guess it’s worth it for folks who look at the FAQs.

Aurora Long

I'm not sure I understand how the reorganization will affect things, but anything that makes it easier to find Episodes without having to scroll through a bunch of other posts would be great. I usually listen at work and can't be on my phone all the time trying to find the next episode

Katie Hopkins

I really appreciate that you are giving us a voice and an opportunity to contribute to your decision making. This is a much better experience than you choosing to re-organize on your own and notifying us by sending lots of emails.

Old Gods of Appalachia

It's making me sad how many folks are like "I don't look at FAQs." If you have a question, PLEASE look there before messaging us. We love to hear from you, but it saves both you and us time.

James Spurney

Easily what was already voted. Collections is just simply logical. I was texting Spock and he agreed.

LeighLee

Hi y’all, new family member here, having the FAQ in sections would help. I like having sections to see what questions fit the ones I have. BTW I would come to the opening of an envelope for family! 😊

Bernadette McHenry

I forgot about this post, and was so excited this morning when I woke up to a bunch of new patreon notifications. “OMG Steve & Cam are flooding us with new episodes, yessss!” Lol! That’s what happens when you get old, family, you forget things!
