Hey everyone!

I wanted to give you all an update about some changes I'm making to my work schedule over the next couple of months.

I've realized that one of the biggest things slowing down my comic projects isn't necessarily the amount of work itself, it's constantly having to switch between comics, commissions, monthly rewards, and everything else that comes up along the way.

I have several comics that I really want to make substantial progress on, and I've reached the point where I need to give them large, uninterrupted blocks of production time instead of trying to squeeze them into whatever time is left over.

So, I'm going to experiment with a different approach.

🎨 What happens with monthly rewards?

Rewards aren't going away!

I'm currently traveling, so I'll be getting the next round of reward forms out after Monday, August 17th, once I'm back and able to properly sit down and work again. (Yes, September Rewards that soon, the MADNESS!)

My plan is to collect and complete the upcoming rewards in a more concentrated production window instead of allowing them to stretch throughout the entire month.

Once those are handled, I'll be shifting the majority of my working time toward comics.

πŸ“– September & October: COMICS!

For September and October, I'm going to greatly reduce the amount of new work I take on, including temporarily closing commissions, while I focus on the projects that are already waiting in my queue.

This isn't a vacation or hiatus. Quite the opposite. πŸ˜†

The whole idea is to stop continuously adding new projects while I'm trying to finish old ones.

I've discovered that I work much faster when I can stay focused on one type of project instead of constantly jumping between unrelated pieces. My recent comic work really drove that home for me.

So the experiment is basically:

Handle rewards β†’ finish existing obligations β†’ stop adding new commissions β†’ COMIC PRODUCTION MODE.

My goal is to spend those two months making a serious dent in the comic backlog, finishing projects that have been waiting far too long, and hopefully entering November with a dramatically cleaner workload.

❀️ Why I'm trying this

I want supporting me here to mean that you're actually getting to see the projects you've been supporting me to create.

I love doing rewards and commissions, but I don't want the monthly cycle to accidentally become something that prevents me from making the larger comics and stories that brought many of you here in the first place.

If this experiment works as well as I think it will, it may also help me develop a healthier long-term production schedule where rewards, commissions, and comics each get dedicated time instead of constantly fighting one another for attention.

Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to try something different.

And don't worry.

I'm not disappearing.

I'm going into the comic mines. β›οΈπŸ“š
