🛠️ September Update, Comic Production Bootcamp! (Patreon)
Content
September ended up becoming something I wasn’t entirely expecting: basically a month-long comic production bootcamp. XD
Rather than concentrating on finishing and posting one project at a time, I spent most of the month working across roughly 5–7 different comics simultaneously, including Sales Pitch, ATKM, Zippers, Suit Printer, and several Fembot/Android projects.
And there was a method to the madness!
A major goal this month was figuring out how to make comic production faster, more organized, and more sustainable without sacrificing the quality I want from the finished pages.
That meant experimenting with new techniques and technologies, improving how I handle backgrounds and reusable assets, reorganizing parts of my Clip Studio workflow, and finding places where I was repeatedly doing the same work when I really didn't need to.
Basically:
How do I spend less time fighting the production process and more time actually making comics?
And September gave me a LOT of answers. :3
📚 There's More Than What You've Seen!
I've posted several previews throughout the month, but those are actually only a small sample of a much larger production.
Instead of immediately releasing everything as soon as a page was finished, I've also been deliberately building buffers for several comics.
That means there are pages, backgrounds, sketches, assets, layouts, and other production work sitting behind the scenes that haven't been posted yet.
The idea is to get away from:
Draw page → post page → immediately scramble to make the next page
and move toward:
Build ahead → maintain a buffer → release consistently → keep production moving.
That should make things considerably healthier for me and make ongoing comics more reliable for you guys.
🦊 Zippers & Suit Printer ARE Coming Back!
And because I know some of you are waiting for them:
Zippers and Suit Printer have NOT been abandoned!
Both are part of the work I've been doing behind the scenes, and both will be returning soon. ❤️
Sales Pitch and the ATKM projects have also given me opportunities to test this new workflow across very different kinds of comics, from modern interiors and sci-fi environments to full fantasy settings, which has been incredibly useful.
September may not have looked like a traditional month of "finish one thing, post it, move on," but under the hood, it was probably one of the most important production months I've had in a while.
I didn't just make pages.
I got better at making comics.
And now I have an actual pipeline, and a growing pile of comic pages, to show for it. >:3
Thank you guys for supporting me while I continue figuring out how to make this ridiculous little comic factory run better. ❤️
October should be where we start seeing the payoff. ✨
