Cooldowns (Patreon)

Should the game feature cooldowns for orgasms, ejaculations and refractory periods, as well as items to accelerate their recovery?

EDIT: Seeing the mixed opinions, it may become an optional and per-character feature.

If a cooldown is not reached, the dialogue would reflect such. Merging/fusing/combining would not be possible until the PC recovers. Condoms could not be filled for Levi. Would this prevent the continous orgasm the PC experiences after accepting Eves' gift? That would be a shame. I love the sound effects and the animations as the PC transforms. Either way, I voted yes. Hinderances make the scenario more interactive.

These cooldowns would likely affect a normal and unaltered character, that is, not being under the effects of any buff that forces things to happen anyways, such as Eve's curse.

Sorry to post question here, but has the discord died?

Draziel

Maybe as a toggle perhaps? Not that it sticks to characters but i kinda like it as it currently is.

The map is already a bit too large for the player's speed as is, so I definitely wouldn't want a slowdown effect, but having a sort of "lust meter" or something wouldn't be a bad idea, in my opinion.

INeedANameForThisHuh

I don't really see the point in including a cooldown system at all. Assuming the cooldowns last longer than it takes to walk from each character to the next, that would slow down the game even more by making completing missions take even longer just to wait on a timer, and make speedrunning for the sake of bug testing and seeing the new features each update even more annoying and bothersome.

Meaninglez

I honestly don't see why. Seems like a pointless inhibitor for this kind of game

I'd want to see it tied to something 'immersive'; as in, have ball size actually dictate cum production etc.

Artem

I think there should be cooldowns, as it's realistic. But 'optional' is probably the worst case here, because the game mechanics should be built around cooldowns (on or off).

GrimFloof

It would be a neat feature, but one that could be toggled on/off depending on how people want to play at the time.

Maybe have an item that temporarily increases ball size well above the normal maximum size but the main reason for consuming it would be to super charge cum production for a bit?

Heck, you could even have drawbacks like if you push your balls too big and produce too much cum that it hinders your character's movement or something.

I think it would make items more interesting as well if there were some built in limitations around ejaculations, and would make the curse all the more interesting considering the non-stop cum effect.

Asanichi

Definitely should be toggleable. It's a feature that could potentially increase depth gameplay and story-wise but sometimes I play bonfire for the "pleasure", not cooldowns or grinds :P

Or if it’s too big you just can’t stop yourself anyway?

The question really should be if this mechanic will enhance game play or make it more challenging in a fun way.... if it's not going to take too much of your time, code it and see if people enjoy the mechanic, if not, then you have your answer. If people aren't enjoying it, I would avoid it.

Henchmannumber21

what if we get it a little both ways? maybe if you take one of the items while not in refractory period you lose control and keep "going" for a bit

And if you botch a synchronization (because you're new, or careless, or whatever) do you have wait around doing nothing until you can try to advance the plot again? That would be incredibly annoying. I like the idea aesthetically but there are already things that have been designed assuming cooldowns don't exist, that would need to be rethought.

I'm partial to the idea. Then it would mean that everyone must go for the largest ball size the game has to offer. Cum is more of a prostate and overall hydration thing, btw.

Cory Bressi

I think some sort of toggle would be ideal... but short of that I would say yes.

Andrew Richards

I’ve been playing for a while now and have always wanted more control of the orgasm sequences for sure. Maybe be able to pull out and aim or to change positions of the characters. A fap setting for the bottom in missionary would be nice! Just some ideas. I know coding this stuff can get hectic. Great job! I love the game!

Chris

You're in a collective dream, right? And sex is the main point to this game. Why would you limit that? Let the taps flow.
